From time to time there is a show that by the end of its first season becomes an absolute hit and it creates a massive international fan base. The American science fiction horror series Stranger Things brought instant fame to the main cast and ever since then their lives have changed completely. Since the majority of the main actors were at the start of their teenage years this level of success gave their careers an incredible advantage.
Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin and the rest of the crew are incredibly talented to that extend that aside from working on Stranger Things they have held roles in famous movies such as Little Women, Enola Holmes and many more.
Cara Buono: Hulk (2003)
In 2003 Cara Buono was cast to play the character Edith Banner who was the mother of Bruce Banner better known as Hulk. She was killed by her husband David Banner (Nick Nolte) is a brutal fight while their son was present in the room. While this was not the big breakthrough, it was still a monumental role for the actress. A few years later she reached higher success by landing key roles in series such as The Sopranos and Man Men.
David Harbour: Suicide Squad (2016)
Dexter Tolliver is a villain in the movie Suicide Squad which gives the audience a completely different picture of David Harbour. It may be strange for many to see a movie where the chief of police Jim Hopper plays a role as a national security advisor of the president. The only thing that can be disappointing is the fact that Dexter Tolliver has a rather important role in the comic books and in the movie he only gets a few minutes.
Winona Ryder: Little Women (1994)
Winona Ryder has had quite the career even before she was cast to play the role of Joyce Byers in Stranger Things. In 1994 she was cast to play the lead in the movie Little Women where she portrayed the character of Jo March.
For her outstanding performance, she was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Joe Keery: Molly's Game (2017)
Molly's Game is based on a true story and the life of an Olympic-class skier Molly Bloom who was sentenced to five years prison time for running an illegal elite poker game for the elite. Joe Keery, best known as Steve Harrington, was cast in the movie to play Cole a "trust fund baby" who was immediately caught cheating by Molly (Jessica Chastain) as she previously made sure every game was recorded for safety reasons.
Charlie Heaton: Shut In (2016)
The psychological thriller Shut In was directed by Farren Blackburn in 2016. The movie talks about the struggles of Mary (Naomi Watts) who is a single mother to Stephen (Charlie Heaton) and they are both isolated by a winter storm in New England. This part was among the first and rather more serious roles that Charlie Heaton was cast, he did an incredible job and had a good resume and experience to run by the producers of Stranger Things.
Natalia Dyer: Yes, God, Yes (2019)
Natalia Dyer recently took had a different turn from horror and shined as a lead role in the movie Yes, God, Yes which falls in the category of comedy-drama. She was cast to portray the character of Alice who is a teenager sent to a Roman Catholic retreat program for high school and college students.
During her stay at the retreat, she struggles to find a balance between the righteous path of the Christian religion and exploring her sexuality.
Caleb McLaughlin: High Flying Bird (2019)
High Flying Bird is a sports drama that was directed by Steven Soderbergh and entirely shot on an iPhone 8. The movie is telling the story of how a sports agent has to pull off a next to impossible pitch to an important client. Caleb McLaughlin has a small role in the movie, he plays the character of Darius one of the basketball players featured in the "important video" that goes viral.
Gaten Matarazzo: The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019)
The Angry Birds Movie 2 is a famous animated comedy film that is a sequel to the 2016 Angry Birds Movie. The character Bubba is presented for the first time in the sequel and Gaten Matarazzo was cast to borrow his voice. The young actor brings a special character into the little green pig who apparently loves tacos. It seems that Matarazzo enjoyed working with animation since his next project is again in the same genre, this time it's the animated movie Hump.
Millie Bobby Brown: Enola Holmes (2020)
Millie Bobby Brown is one extremely talented actress, already at the age of sixteen, she is an accomplished actress and producer. Most people know her by the role in Stranger Things where she played the character Eleven, what many don't know is that so far she has worked on more than fifteen projects.
This year the actress released the movie Enola Holmes where she has the lead role and she worked aside Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter and Sam Claflin. Brown was also one of the producers of the movie.
Finn Wolfhard: The Turning (2020)
Finn Wolfhard is clearly successfully building his career and he is doing that by choosing roles mainly in horror movies and series. He began with Stranger Things in 2016 and continued by being cast to play the role of. Richie Tozier in It in 2017 and It: Chapter Two in 2019. Another horror movie Finn did was The Turning, a 2020 slow-burn adaptation of The Turning of the Screw.
