The fourth season of Stranger Things introduced a new character, Eddie Munson, an outcast and D&D player who was blamed for Chrissy Cunningham's murder. However, Eddie is revealed to have a lovable personality and, with his charming charisma, quickly stole the heart of the viewers.
One of the things the fandom loved the most was Eddie and Steve's friendship, even seeing some potential romantic vibes between the two characters. However, with Eddie dying in the finale, the odds of seeing this ship become canon are very low. Still, the fandom has created some of the most amazing fan arts, which almost makes up for this unconsolable tragedy.
Eddie Teaching Steve How To Play The Guitar
This extremely cute fan art by yifera represents Eddie and Steve having a quotidian interaction in which Eddie is trying to teach Steve how to play his electric guitar. Eddie loves music and, after the impressive guitar solo he conducted in the last episode of Stranger Things, it's possible Steve would ask Eddie to teach him how to play the instrument.
Steve is known for complaining all the time, so the fact that he's having a hard time with the pain in his fingers is very on character. However, the best aspect of this fan art is the way Eddie is looking at Steve, amused by his dramatics, but also thoroughly in love with the boy.
Eddie And Steve Hugging and Kissing Each Other
Tumblr artist corpsings created a fan art with Steve and Eddie romantically dancing to the iconic '80s song "Don't You Want Me," by The Human League.
This is one of the cutest representations of this couple. Steve and Eddie look into each other's eyes, while Eddie puts his hands around Steve's neck, which is incredibly adorable. Plus, both are using some of their most emblematic outfits from the TV show, Steve with his orange sweatshirt, and Eddie with the Hellfire Club shirt.
Eddie Finally Graduating High School
A running joke through the last season of Stranger Things was about how Eddie hadn't graduated High School, even though he was at least nineteen years old. He was determined to finally achieve this goal when, unfortunately, Vecna cursed Chrissy and Eddie was framed for her murder. Sadly, Eddie died before ever completing this milestone.
However, since Eddie deserved so much better, artist modisawesome gave him a happy ending. Eddie finally graduates high school together with his best friends, Nancy and Robin, and his boyfriend Steve accompanying them for the day. There's probably nothing the fandom would love more than seeing this picture become canon.
Eddie Talking Passionately About Music
Everyone knows Eddie Munson loves music, particularly metal. Not only does he have a big collection of cassettes of what he insists is definitely good music, but he also plays the guitar masterfully. His music obsession is one of the things that perfectly sum up Eddie as a character. For this reason, artist ditzydrawz reimagined Eddie talking to Steve non-stop about one of his favorite bands.
This drawing is extremely sweet, with Steve resting his head in Eddie's head and his spellbound expression while Eddie laughs freely. But the best part is Eddie realizing Steve is not paying attention while Steve tries to hide away his blushing face. This artist gave the fans everything they didn't know they needed.
Steve And Eddie's First Date
The artist smilekyu went ahead and recreated what Eddie and Steve's first date would look like. Even though the boys are simply hanging out, sitting on the sidewalk, what makes this drawing especially cute is Steve's nervously touching his neck while Eddie looks at him enamored.
Clearly, the fandom is craving more casual interactions between these two characters. Unfortunately, viewers didn't get to see them talk under normal circumstances, and it would have been great to see how Steve and Eddie's relationship would have developed if Eddie would have gotten more time in the show.
Double Date
While Eddie and Steve quickly became one of the most popular Stranger Things ships, Robin and Nancy are not far behind. Plus, one of the most common headcanons of the show are these two couples being best friends. Artist vivalski beautifully illustrated the four characters hanging out together, on what looks like a double date.
After everything this group of teenagers had to endure in the fourth season of the show, fans would like nothing more than to see them hang out and be happy. If on top of that, they can get these two couples together, that would be the cherry on the cake.
A "Steddie" Kiss
This steamy fan art by artist nilotter represents Steve and Eddie kissing while wearing each other's clothing. One especially cute detail from this illustration is the height difference between these two characters. Plus, it's very cute that nilotter draws Steve's hands around Eddie's neck, even though Steve is the taller one of the two.
Not only is this fan art incredibly well done, but it recreates one of the moments the fandom would like to see the most between Eddie and Steve. Plus, the fact that Steve is wearing shorts gives the scene a domestic atmosphere that makes it all the more precious.
"Steddie" Wearing Each Other's Clothes
When Steve goes into the Upside Down and loses his shirt, Eddie immediately lends him his vest so he can cover himself. Since sharing clothes is one of the most common romantic gestures between couples, Steddie shippers are still reeling from seeing Steve wearing Eddie's clothes.
Artist dread_oo took it one step further and also illustrated Eddie with Steve's varsity jacket. If this wasn't enough, they took one of the funniest quotes on Stranger Things and adapt it to make an endearing and flirty moment between these two beloved characters.
Dustin's Dads
Eddie and Dustin have one of the best character arcs in the last season, with the duo developing a wholesome relationship, attacking the Demobats together, and finally, Eddie dying in Dustin's arms. With Steve and Dustin also having one of the best relationships on the show, Dustin is like a son to# Eddie and Steve.
There's nothing better than protective friends, and fans fell in love with the way this duo takes care of their younger friend. Artist emeriart created an adorable picture of the two of them hugging their adoptive son while making faces to the camera, and it would have been great to see more moments like this in the TV show.
Steve + Eddie 1986
The talented artist arminvincible created a time-appropriate image of a polaroid picture that captures Eddie and Steve peacefully sleeping and cuddling. It's cute to imagine some of the other characters in Stranger Things finding these two asleep and taking the picture.
After everything Steve and Eddie had to face, it's nice to see them finally relaxing with each other, resting from all the terrible things going on in Hawkins.
