Stranger Things fans can actually call the phone number featured on Argyle's Surfer Boy Pizza van and get a fun surprise. After 3 successful seasons on Netflix, the Duffer Brothers' horror/ fantasy show returned this past May with volume 1 of its fourth season. After introducing a handful of new characters and a new villain in the form of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), the final two episodes of Stranger Things season 4 were some of the biggest in the show's history, both in terms of scale and runtime.

Although not a major player in the new season, Eduardo Franco's Argyle quickly became a fan favorite. The character works for Surfer Boy Pizza and is friends with Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton), with the two spending the first few episodes of the season often getting high together. The pizza delivery fan Argyle drives comes to play an important role in the later episodes of Stranger Things season 4 when Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Will (Noah Schnapp) team up with Argyle and Jonathan to rescue Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). Notably, Argyle also introduces Eleven and Mike to the concept of pineapple on pizza in the Stranger Things season 4 finale.

As pointed out by Horror4Kids on Twitter, the phone number featured on Argyle's Surfer Boy Pizza van – (805) 457-4992 – is callable, with callers getting a surprise recording from Franco himself. Franco, in character as Argyle, greets the calling "customers" by saying, "Surfer Boy Pizza, this is Argyle speaking. We make everything fresh here at Surfer Boy, except for our pineapple, which comes from a can." Argyle then puts the caller "on hold" and recites another customer's strange pizza order to his coworkers before reciting his "try before you deny" catchphrase and accidentally hanging up. Typically, in movies and TV, phone numbers that are seen or mentioned on-screen are pulled from a specific directory of numbers set aside for Hollywood use. Considering these numbers aren't actually connected, the surprise awaiting Stranger Things fans when they call Surfer Boy Pizza is certainly a fun real-world Easter egg. Although Argyle is mostly featured as a relatively minor supporting character, his constant highness and funny catchphrases quickly made him one of the more memorable additions to the season, and being able to "call" him at work only adds to the world of the show.

With Stranger Things season 5, the show's last, still a few years away, it remains to be seen what will become of Argyle. Since the character seems to have been a hit with fans in season 4, it's possible that Argyle will play a more prominent role in season 5 alongside Jonathan and the others. For now, however, fans already missing Stranger Things can give Surfer Boy Pizza a call and hear Argyle hard at work taking orders.
