The latest promo for Stranger Things season 2 evokes Friday the 13th and promises a new trailer dropping tomorrow. Two weeks from now, the new season of Stranger Things will finally drop on Netflix. With it will come new threats to Hawkins, Indiana and the world in the form of the mysterious shadow monster. But the upcoming batch of episodes will also confront new characters, Will's time in the Upside Down, and Eleven's brutal upbringing.

Like season 1, Stranger Things 2 as the creators have dubbed it, will evoke the aesthetic of the '80s and the feeling of Halloween. That latter effect will not only be channelled by the season's release date, but the events within the show. Last week, the first clip arrived for season 2 and offered us a glimpse of the boys having fun on the holiday before things inevitably turn dark. Now, fans will get the chance to see one final trailer for the show before it returns.

Netflix has released a new promo for Stranger Things season 2 that pays homage to the trailer for Friday the 13th. Aside from continuing the show's references to past horror films, the teaser also announces that a new trailer for Stranger Things will arrive tomorrow, Friday the 13th.

While several Friday the 13th's arrive each year, it's certainly fitting that one lands just a few weeks before Halloween and the new season of Stranger Things. It also provides the perfect way to tease 13 new moments from the show and throw back to an inspiration for the series. For the past few months, Netflix has been releasing posters that pay tribute to classic '80s horror, sci-fi, and fantasy films like Jaws and Evil Dead. So this new promotion sits comfortably in the show's wheelhouse.

As for what to expect in the trailer, it's likely we'll meet some of the new characters. Photos from the season introduced a couple of them, and new character Max appears in the clip released last week. What these new residents of Hawkins are all about, however, remains to be seen. In all likelihood, at least one of them will be more than they seem.

There's also the return of Eleven and Will's new life after the events of season 1. Both of those mysteries will continue to have ramifications in the season to come, and there's a good chance Eleven's past and the Upside Down aren't gone for good on the show. Luckily, we don't have to wait much longer to see how things unfold.
