Warning: contains spoilers ahead for Strange Academy #10!

In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' Strange Academyit's just been revealed that Doctor Strange is teaching and training the children of a major Thor villain. While the students of the Strange Academy come from all walks of life within the Marvel universe, only two come from the realm of Asgard, home of Thor and the rest of the Norse gods. Alvi and Iric Brorson's parents were noticeably absent from the school's Family Day, and now it looks like readers know the reason why in this new issue.

Thus far in Marvel's Strange Academy - from writer Skottie Young and artist Humberto Ramos - the students of the Sorcerer Supreme have had all kinds of unique and supernatural learning experiences from some of the most gifted and powerful magic users in the Marvel Universe. While one of the classes previously went on a brief excursion to space with the Guardians of the Galaxy, this new issue marks the Strange Academy's first official field trip, with the students heading to see all the wonders Asgard has to offer. However, this field trip is really just visiting home for twin brothers Alvi and Iric, whose father is a palace guard. Still, despite the homecoming, Iric is pretty ambiguous when Emily Bright tries to inquire about their mother.

Due to the noble Volstagg serving as the school's tour guide instead of Thor, the students' first stop is naturally the banquet hall in Strange Academy #10. However, Iric is seen sneaking out by Doyle, the son of the evil Dormammu, who follows the young Asgardian to the roots of the World Tree where Doyle learns who the twins' mother really is: Amora the Enchantress.

Strange-Academy-10-Iric-Mother-Enchantress

Apparently, Iric and Alvi are the Enchantress' children, though it doesn't look like she's been around much to care about them. Srill, it seems as though Iric wants to have a connection with her, while Alvi doesn't seem to be all that interested due to their mother's status as a villain. But it does look like Amora loves her sons. This is a rather large development for the twins, as well as for the Enchantress herself, considering that readers know Amora will have a third child in the future with Namor. This third child is Ove, who fought with Captain Marvel in the future and also managed to travel back to the present to try and take over the world.

Perhaps an Enchantress family reunion will soon be in the works? Hard to say, but it's now confirmed that Doyle Dormammu isn't the only student at the Strange Academy with parents who are bad news in the Marvel Universe. While Alvi seems like he'll be staying on the straight and narrow, one can only hope Iric doesn't get influenced to become yet another Thor villain like his mother in future issues.
