The look is stunning, and it's great to see the hero get the attention and love he deserves.Virgil Hawkins, known by his hero name Static, debuted in 1993, within Milestone Comics' Static #1. The character was created by comic legends Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis, and Derek T. Dingle. DC later acquired Milestone and recently has sought to reboot some of the company's characters into a shared universe. They belong to what's been christened the 'Dakotaverse,' but have been known to cross over with other DC continuities in the past.Related: Blue Beetle Cosplay Is DC's Perfect Answer to the MCU's Iron ManOn Twitter, @CosPlayNay shared an incredible Static cosplay. Static is One of DC's Most Fashionable Heroes

This look, paired with the Static: Season Two design sheet, highlights the excitement fans have about seeing the hero's triumphant return. Static has long been one of Milestone's strongest and most iconic heroes. Since his beginnings, Virigil has predominantly been depicted as a teen hero. As a result, his costumes have been very youthful - and also very homemade. Static: Season One showed him making his own outfit, making him very similar to cosplayers apart from it being an original design primarily to protect his identity. However, it shows the importance of young heroes having a strong, stand-out design that is also relatively easy to construct with limited resources, allowing fans to put themselves in their shoes.

One of the coolest additions to Static's new look - incorporated into @CosPlayNays' reproduction of the outfit - is the stiff-capped hood. Static's debut look featured a hat with an X, while his later animated design ignored this aspect. Now, it has come back in a new way. While the iconic X has been removed, the baseball cap shape itself has been reintegrated in a new way. Static's hood has a brim included - it is a traditional hard-brimmed baseball cap component, unlike hoods seen worn by other superheroes. This not only sets Static apart, it also merges his style from throughout the years. He will also be receiving a new look for his latest announced appearance, "Static Beyond," in the upcoming Milestone 30th Anniversary Special.

@CosPlayNay has created cosplays for very fashionable comic characters, including Marvel's Miles Morales with his usual suit, his Into the Spider-Verse suit, and the Miles Morales 2020 suit. When it comes to reinventing superhero fashion, Miles and Virgil are at the forefront of a fun new movement. Merging street looks with practicality and mobility, it's an exciting time to be a comic cosplayer. @CosPlayNay's incredible cosplay nails Static's new costume, which is itself a daring departure from existing superhero looks which gives Virgil his own style.
