Fans waiting for news about Stardew Valley update 1.5 were surprised this week when it dropped without warning on PC. Because of this, players can finally find out what the door added to Willy's fishing shop leads to. A Willy's shop door teaser image was dropped several months ago as one of the few indications of what might be coming with Stardew Valley's 1.5 update, and the hidden content behind the door was much bigger than most might have guessed.

Stardew Valley's 1.5 update added a new beach farm, enemies, crops and Maker machines, among much more. However, the biggest addition to Stardew Valley, by far, is the ability to travel to a new area. Stardew Valley's new jungle island is filled with interesting puzzles, narrative mysteries to unravel, and a whole new farmable area. The new area cannot be reached without Willy's help, however, and it all has to do with the door behind his counter in the fishing shop.

In order for Willy to unlock the door, players must first finish every bundle in Stardew Valley's Community Center or the Joja Mart storyline. This will be a tall order for fans who started a new save to experience the 1.5 content. After finishing the bundles, players will receive a letter from Willy in the mail, saying they now have access to his back room and the ancient boat he has been keeping there. However, there is another step to go before players can hop on the vessel to explore the new jungle island map.

Willey's Shop Door Lets Stardew Valley Fans Travel To A New Area

Stardew Valley New Beach Farm

In order to use Willy's boat, players must first repair it. This won't come cheap, either, and players starting their Stardew Valley save over will actually have an edge, since they'll be able to save the needed materials. Repairs cost five Iridium Bars for the anchor, four Battery Packs for the ticket machine, and 200 Hardwood Logs to repair the hull. With these repairs finished, players can then come to the shop at 8 AM any day of the week and pay 1,000G for a ticket to sail away to the jungle island.

The addition of a new area like the jungle island is perfect for fans who want more to do in the game after the Community Center story is over. Before Stardew Valley's 1.5 update, there wasn't much for players to do in the later years of their saves, other than reorganize their farms. The new area hidden behind Willy's shop door is bound to have many exciting adventures for Stardew Valley fans and makes the game feel almost new for those who have enjoyed the farming sim since its original release.
