Star Wars: Visions gives fans a different look at this universe and the characters who live in it, and in order to keep a sense of familiarity, it brought back a couple of well-known characters. Although the Skywalker Saga has come to an end with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the Star Wars universe continues expanding, though not on the big screen. While this universe is best known for its movies, it has found an audience in the world of streaming thanks to The Mandalorian, which opened the doors for other projects within the Star Wars universe.

The latest one is Star Wars: Visions, a Japanese-American anime anthology series formed by nine short films telling stories from the vast Star Wars universe. The stories told in Visions are not connected to the Skywalker Saga and they introduce a bunch of new characters that will most likely not make it past this compilation, but they are an entertaining way of exploring the many possibilities that the Star Wars universe holds. However, not all characters in Visions are new to the audience, and the team behind the show picked a couple of well-known Star Wars characters to add them into the mix, even if just in minor or cameo roles.

Among a variety of new characters from both the light and dark sides of the Force, Star Wars fans will find three familiar faces from the Skywalker Saga, giving the series a sense of connection to the best-known side of this universe but without them taking all the attention. Here are the returning Star Wars characters in Star Wars: Visions.

Boba Fett

Star Wars Visions Trailer Shows Anime Boba Fett

Before his return in his own TV show, The Book of Boba Fett, the famous bounty hunter is back in Star Wars: Visions. Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) shows up in episode 2, “Tatooine Rhapsody”, where he arrives to take Geezer (Kōsuke Gotō/Bobby Moynihan) to Jabba the Hut. Boba Fett made his first appearance in the Skywalker Saga in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back and returned in Star Wars: Episode IV –Return of the Jedi, where he fell into the Sarlacc’s mouth and supposedly died, but he returned in season 2 of The Mandalorian, and his story will now be further explored in The Book of Boba Fett.

Jabba the Hutt

Jabba the Hutt makes an appearance in Star Wars: Visions alongside Boba Fett in episode 2. Jabba’s role in the story is more of a cameo one as he doesn’t even speak, but his presence is strong enough to not be ignored. Jabba made his proper debut in the Skywalker Saga in Return of the Jedi, where Boba Fett brought Han Solo to him and he famously trapped him in carbonite and placed him on display at his throne room. Jabba was killed in Return of the Jedi when Leia choked him with the chain she was tethered to his throne with.

Bib Fortuna

Of course, with Jabba the Hutt comes Bib Fortuna, his majordomo who was always by the crime lord’s side. Bib Fortuna’s first appearance in the Star Wars universe was in Return of the Jedi, where his fate was left ambiguous, and just like Boba Fett, he returned in The Mandalorian, where it was revealed he had taken over Jabba’s palace and was later killed by Fett. Bib makes a cameo appearance in Star Wars: Visions episode 2, always by Jabba’s side.
