Actor and director, Andy Serkis, recently argued that First Order Supreme Leader Snoke needs his own Star Wars project. The actor made a name for himself in The Lord of the Rings trilogy as Gollum, a fully computer-generated hobbit corrupted by the One Ring. He would later continue his work as a motion-capture performer in Peter Jackson's King Kong as the titular giant ape, The Adventures of Tintin as Captain Haddock, and in The Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy as Caesar. However, one of his biggest motion-capture roles came in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens as the First Order's Supreme Leader Snoke.

Similar to Emperor Palpatine in the original Star Wars trilogy, Snoke commanded Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the First Order from afar through the use of holograms. Serkis' imposing character and compelling performance spurned many questions from the fanbase regarding the villain's origins, including theories assuming that he may be the infamous Darth Plagueis. Fans hoped that Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi would provide answers but Snoke was quickly killed off by Kylo and then later used as a background prop in Palpatine's clone lab on Exegol in Star Wars: Episode IX - Rise of Skywalker.

Serkis recently sat down with Jake's Takes and argued that Snoke should get his own Star Wars project. When asked about what part of Serkis' work with Star Wars he would love to get creator George Lucas' thoughts on, the actor explained that he would really want to know more about Snoke and would love to expand his presence in the franchise. Read what Serkis said below.

First of all, I would love him to think about furthering Snoke, actually. I think I'd say to him, "Look, I don't think we've seen enough Snoke." I think people would love to see more Snoke. And really, really infill the whole lore behind Snoke because I think there's so much fertile that has yet to be covered.

What Would A Snoke Star Wars Movie Look Like?

Hologram Snoke in Star Wars The Force Awakens

Snoke appeared as a massive question mark in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. With few character details given in the film, the dark lord seemingly appeared from nowhere in a universe that appeared to have rid itself of the Sith. The gap between Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and his first appearance in Star Wars - Episode VII - The Force Awakens offers a large window of opportunity to explore Snoke's origins.

Since Snoke's clone revelation in Star Wars: Episode IX - Rise of Skywalker, his origin story has slowly been developed in tertiary media. Several years before the Empire's collapse, Snoke was created on Exegol by Palpatine's Sith cultists in an attempt to prolong the Emperor's life. Palpatine found the body to be incapable of containing his life force and instead used him as a puppet to control the rise of the First Order and groom Ben Solo (Driver) into becoming an agent of the Dark Side. A future Snoke film could center on Snoke's early years as he struggles to understand his purpose following his creation, and wrestling with Palpatine's influence. With Serkis receiving praise for his performance as Kino Loy in the Star Wars franchise's latest entry, Andor, perhaps Lucasfilm will consider expanding Snoke's origins on film with Serkis back in the Sith lord's golden robes.
