It seems Rosario Dawson still wants to play Ahsoka Tano. On social media, she has once again expressed an interest in portraying Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice from Star Wars: The Clone Wars in a live-action setting, going so far as to suggest she appear in Disney+’s exclusive The Mandalorian – which, incidentally, is set roughly in the same post-Return Of The Jedi period as the last time fans saw Ahsoka.

While initially derided when The Clone Wars first began airing in 2008, the young Togruta Padawan soon grew into a popular character among the fanbase thanks to her series-long story arc of personal development. The led to Ahsoka having a supporting role in the second season of The Clone Wars’ follow-up series, Star Wars Rebelsand a brief voice cameo during the climax of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, where her spirit, as well as those of countless other Jedi, advises Rey to rise up and defeat the evil Emperor Palpatine once and for all. Even years after her last onscreen appearance in Rebels’ final episode – where she appeared to Sabine Wren following the Battle Of Endor to help search for the missing Ezra Bridger – fans still clamor for Ahoska to make an appearance in a live-action Star Wars work – Rosario Dawson included.

On her Twitter page, Dawson shared a post from a fan pointing out that Ahsoka would be in her early to mid-’40s during The Mandalorian – not that far removed from Dawson’s own age. “Tell ‘em! #AhsokaLives,” she replied, leading to a wave of support for her in the role from fans. Although, some fans also expressed a desire for long-time Ahsoka voice actress Ashley Eckstein to reprise her role should Ahsoka appear in live-action. A few even went as far as to suggest a situation similar to Darth Maul’s portrayal in Solo: A Star Wars Story, with Dawson appearing as the character physically and Eckstein providing her voice. Comic book fans might recognize Dawson from her role as the troubled nurse Claire Temple in Marvel’s series of Netflix exclusives, as well as providing the voice of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in 2017’s The Lego Batman Movie and Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in a number of DC Animated Original Movies. She has previously mentioned a willingness to take on the part of Ahsoka on Twitter in 2017, leading to fan art depicting Dawson in the role of Ahsoka during a post-Rebels setting on multiple occasions.

Indeed, Rosario Dawson would be a fitting actress to bring Ahsoka Tano to life, be that on a Disney+ series like The Mandalorian or in a theatrical film. In her role as Claire Temple, Dawson demonstrated the same blend of strength, compassion, and occasional snarkiness that endeared fans to Ahsoka during Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ six – soon to be seven when the upcoming final season hits Disney+ next month – year run. In addition, she would certainly have the stage presence to portray the rogue Jedi at the height of her power, which is where Ahsoka would be at in a suggested appearance on The Mandalorian. Regardless of where she appears or when, seeing the beloved animated heroine in live-action would put a smile on many fans’ faces, including Rosario Dawson’s.
