After 2003's Monster, Patty Jenkins returned to movies and joined the DC Extended Universe with 2017's Wonder Woman. After the massive success of that film, Patty is back once again for this year's Wonder Woman 1984.

Lucasfilm caught wind of her talents and now, she has been confirmed to be the director of a new Star Wars movie. Rogue Squadron, a fighter pilot movie set in the Star Wars universe. Fans have been quick to welcome Patty with open arms; this has led to many speculating which actors will be the newest team of X-Wing pilots.

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig as James Bond in No Time to Die

Yes, Daniel Craig is already part of Star Wars canon. For those unaware, when Rey was captured and restrained, Craig played the stormtrooper which she tricks into freeing her. Yes, James Bond himself played a quick one-minute stormtrooper role in The Force Awakens.

Granted, the role is enjoyable but Craig deserves a better role than that. Whether it's a veteran X-Wing pilot or an Imperial Admiral, Craig can pull it off. James Bond is only one role of his: the recent Knives Out, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Logan Lucky are other examples of his range.

Joel Kinnaman

Joel Kinnaman Rick Flag in The Suicide Squad

Prior to Wonder Woman, Patty directed episodes of television. This included the pilot episode of The Killing on Netflix starring Joel Kinnaman. Joel is no stranger to big franchises: he took on the role of RoboCop in 2014 and starred in the first season of Netflix's Altered Carbon.

Currently, he is a fellow member of the DC Extended Universe as Rick Flagg in both Suicide Squad films. Action and sci-fi are in his wheelhouse which makes him perfect to be a member of Rogue Squadron.

Sam Witwer

sam witwer actor

Another Star Wars alumni, Sam Witwer was the voice and face of Starkiller in The Force Unleashed games. More famously, Sam has been the definitive voice of Darth Maul across TV, games, and movies. Though he is loved for these roles, many fans agree that he deserves a live-action role.

Sam Witwer has shown a lot of range via his roles on Being Human (U.S.), Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, and more. Sam is a die-hard Star Wars fan who has shown love for the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games. Put him in an X-Wing and his journey as a Star Wars fan will be complete.

Winston Duke

Winston Duke as Gabe Wilson in Us

Quickly winning over fans as M'Baku in Black Panther, Winston Duke has gone on to star in films like Jordan Peele's Us and Netflix's Spenser Confidential. Being connected by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would probably be easy for Disney to bring in Winston especially with a talented director like Patty.

The role of M'Baku is all one needs to see to show how rich of an actor Duke is. M'Baku featured many layers to his character all delivered brilliantly by Winston Duke. Give this man an X-Wing!

Kristen Wiig

Wonder Woman 1984 Barbara Minerva

Kristen Wiig began as a hilarious comedian then joined projects like The Martian and the new Wonder Woman 1984. Taking a darker role, Wiig plays the villainous Cheetah alongside Star Wars legend Pedro Pascal in WW84 which fans can't wait to see on December 25th.

Patty Jenkins has already shown that she likes to work with actors from previous projects. Perhaps this will also be the case with Kristen after Wonder Woman 1984.

John David Washington

The protagonists cries in Tenet

Much like his father Denzel, John David Washington's career exploded quickly. John has already been in BlacKkKlansman, Monsters And Men, and the rather mind-bending Tenet by Christopher Nolan. John David Washington has a bright future ahead of him.

This has led to many fans wondering what big franchise will grab his attention: DC, Marvel, and, of course, Star Wars. Patty Jenkins should really think about adding this talented young actor to her ensemble.

Oscar Isaac

Poe Dameron poses in front of his plane in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The last Star Wars alumni for this list. Oscar Isaac is one of the most charming and talented actors working today; his role as Poe Dameron is now a fan-favorite amongst fans. However, most fans can agree that Poe Dameron was severely sidelined across the sequel trilogy.

With Poe being, as Finn says it best: "One hell of a pilot." Poe returning for Rogue Squadron is ideal. Poe could finally get that leading role that fans wanted since The Force Awakens and as a bonus, more of Oscar Isaac can never be a bad thing.

Chris Pine

Chris Pine as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984

Chris Pine has stated publicly in the past that Harrison Ford is an idol of his. Chris even emulated a bit of Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones when he starred in Wonder Woman. One plus one equals two: Chris Pine could pay his respects to Ford again by being in the franchise that launched Ford's career.

Chris has been Steve Trevor in both Wonder Woman movies, Captain Kirk in Star Trek, and even the voice of Spider-Man. Why not add another huge franchise to his filmography? He's a great actor who could easily play a scoundrel pilot a la Han Solo.

Charlize Theron

Andy pulls a weapon from her back in The Old Guard

Many were shocked that Charlize Theron never reunited with Patty for the Wonder Woman movies. It was her work with Patty in Monster that earned Charlize Theron an Oscar. Plus, Charlize is no stranger to giant franchises: Mad Max: Fury Road, Prometheus, and even The Fast & The Furious.

It's actually even more surprising that Charlize never joined Star Wars prior. Well with Patty taking on Rogue Squadron, it would be the perfect time to kill two birds with one stone. Charlize Theron would more than likely kill in whatever Star Wars role Patty Jenkins gives her; just like she does with every role.

Gal Gadot

Wonder Woman with gold background

It comes of no surprise that Gal Gadot has become Patty Jenkins' first choice actor. They worked together perfectly in the first Wonder Woman and the sequel is sure to deliver the same magic. Now Patty and Gal are set to reunite again for their version of Cleopatra.

Most fans are 99.99% certain that Gal Gadot will end up being one of the main leads of Rogue Squadron; they would be shocked if Gal did not appear in the film at all. As a bonus, she could reunite with Chris Pine and Kristen Wiig for another adventure.
