Chronicle Collectibles and EFX Collectibles give fans their best look at Dark Rey's (Daisy Ridley) double-bladed lightsaber from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. In a week, the final installment of the Skywalker saga will hit theaters, answering lingering questions from all trilogies, including ones that were only introduced in the sequels, such as the mystery surrounding the existence of Dark Rey.

Plot specifics for The Rise of Skywalker have been tightly under wraps until now with Disney and Lucasfilm running a measured marketing campaign to ensure that there won't be any plot leaks before the movie hits theaters. It's been confirmed, however, that the movie will pick up a year after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and will also mark the return of Ian McDiarmid as Emperor Palpatine.

One of the other bigger mysteries coming to The Rise of Skywalker is the origin of Dark Rey. Marketing has revealed an ominous-looking version of the character - as if she's also lured to the dark side like Kylo Ren - carrying a double-bladed red lightsaber. These reveals have stemmed multiple theories from the Star Wars community. And while fans can't expect any clarification before the movie rolls out, they can have a better look at the cool-looking new weapon thanks to a replica created by EFX Collectibles. Distributed by Chronicle Collectibles, the lighsaber "is based on a detailed study of the actual prop and reference materials supplied by the Lucasfilm production team," the website says, adding that it "is screen accurate not only in the geometry, but down to the detailed weathering, as well." There's only limited quantity of the piece which costs $1599.99.

The mystery surrounding the red double-bladed lightsaber is tied-in to the origins of Dark Rey. The Star Wars franchise hasn't seen a stylized lightsaber since Darth Maul's From The Phanton Menace. Regardless of what's going on behind the weapon and its wielder, chances are that the item will be one of the many memorable lightsaber iterations out there. So while the price tag for the collectible replica is quite heavy, serious collectors could be more than willing to spend money for the item.

As the culmination of everything that has transpired in the Star Wars franchise, it's an understatement to say that there's a lot of story that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker needs to cover. The return of Emperor Palpatine and his supposed ties to Kylop Ren (Adam Driver) poses some brand new questions, while the mystery of Supreme Leader Snoke and the Knights of Ren are still lingering. Considering these, as well as all the other plot points the film has to address, fans can only hope that Abrams is able to stick the landing for the franchise.
