Star Wars Resistance Voice Cast & Character Guide

advertising

Star Wars Resistance flies on to television screens every Sunday, first premiering on the Disney Channel, followed by regular airings on Disney XD. The series is the latest animated series in Disney's continuation of the Star Wars saga, set six months prior to Star Wars: The Force Awakens and featuring a young Resistance spy as he goes undercover at an airship refueling station.

Along with a little espionage, Resistance will largely focus on the competitive starship racing that takes place in the skies above the refueling station. Dubbed Colossus, the station is located on the Outer Rim planet, Castilon, and caters to thrill-seeking pilots and anyone else looking to score some credits by betting on the races. It's basically a tamer, more family-friendly spin on the Mos Eisley cantina with a little of the energy and excitement that surrounds pod-racing thrown in.

The cast for Star Wars Resistance is mostly franchise newcomers with a few familiar characters (as well as their movie-star voices) sprinkled throughout as recurring guests. Here's a rundown of all the main characters in Resistance, as well as who voices them, and where you may have heard (or seen) them before.

Meet Team Fireball

Christopher Sean as Kazuda "Kaz" Xiono: A starry-eyed, young pilot in the New Republic Navy, Kaz is also the son of a senator in the New Republic's Galactic Senate. While on a reconnaissance mission, Kaz is recruited by Poe Dameron to become a spy for the Resistance. Stationed on the Colossus, Kaz's mission is to discover who on the station is loyal to the Resistance and who favors the First Order. As his cover, Kaz works as a mechanic in Jarek Yeager's repair shop and flies as a racer for Team Fireball. Kaz is voiced by Christopher Sean, an actor best known for his recurring role on CBS's Hawaii Five-0 and who is currently appearing as Paul Narita on the NBC soap opera, Days of Our Lives.

Suzie McGrath as Tam Ryvora: A mechanic in Jarek Yeager's shop, Tam isn't too impressed with Kaz when he first arrives. Still, she agrees to fix up the Fireball starship so that he can fly it in a race to prove he really is the "best pilot in the galaxy." Voicing Tam is Suzie McGrath, a British actress who got her start on EastEnders and Law & Order: UK.

Josh Brener as Neeku Vozo: An eager mechanic who works in Yeager's repair ship, Neeku is a Kadas'sa'Nikto and only non-human on Team Fireball (not including droids). He takes things too literally (think Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy), is also very easily impressed, and quick to boast of his new friend Kaz's skill as a pilot. Neeku is voiced by Josh Brener of Silicon Valley, where he plays Nelson "Big Head" Bighetti.

Scott Lawrence as Jarek Yeager: Owner and operator of the eponymous repair shop, Jarek Yeager was formerly a pilot in Rebel Alliance and is a veteran of the Galactic Civil War. He gives Kaz a job at his shop as a favor to Poe Dameron and is the only person on Colossus who knows about Kaz's real mission as a Resistance spy. Yeager is also the leader of Team Fireball, where he mentors young, hot-shot starship pilots. He is played by Scott Lawrence, an actor best known for portraying Cmdr. Sturgis Turner on the CBS series JAG, but who has also voiced Darth Vader for a number of Star Wars video games, including Star Wars: TIE Fighter and Star Wars: Battlefront II.

R1-J5 as R1-J5, AKA "Bucket": Jarek Yeager's astromech droid is an older model with outdated programming, but remains a capable mechanic. He's a bit cantankerous, making him not so unlike Chopper from Star Wars Rebels.
