A new video preview and synopsis from the Star Wars Rebels series finale have arrived, teasing the big showdown on Lothal. After four years and as many seasons, the follow-up to the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars series is coming to an end. This week, Rebels changed Star Wars canon in a big way, and it's been packing in emotional episodes all season. Lucasfilm is already promising an intense finale, and from what we've seen so far they're right.

The Star Wars Rebels series finale trailer teases that the final battle for Lothal will pit Thrawn and the Empire against Ezra, Hera, and the other Rebels. Season 4 has already connected to Rogue One and the Original Trilogy in a number of key ways, and the two-episode finale will probably connect the two films in even more ways. Failing that, the series finale sizzle reel and plot summary promise an action-packed episode to remember.

Disney XD has released a new sizzle reel for the 90-minute Star Wars Rebels series finale that includes footage not featured in the previously-released trailer. Elements that have factored into the series as a whole will come back into play in the finale, as it seems that most every hero and villain we've met on the show will come to blows on Lothal. Read on for the synopses for the two-part finale below, following this image of Ezra flanked by the Loth Wolves as he prepares for battle in the finale.

The thrilling and inspiring galactic adventures of the Ghost crew will conclude MONDAY, MARCH 5 (8:30 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney XD in an exciting 90-minute grand finale of the critically-acclaimed animated series "Star Wars Rebels."

· In "A Fool's Hope" - Ezra calls in every favor he can to rally together a ragtag group for a seemingly impossible fight against Governor Pryce and her Imperial forces.

· In "Family Reunion – and Farewell" – Ezra and team take drastic action to free Lothal.

The "Star Wars Rebels" series finale will also be available on www.DisneyNOW.com at 10:00 p.m. ET after it premieres on Disney XD.

There's no telling how the finale will end, as Hera and Chopper are the only characters confirmed to make it to Rogue One. What's more, both the Star Wars prequel movie trilogy and Clone Wars animated series have demonstrated that the franchise isn't afraid to kill off new characters in gut-wrenching ways. That doesn't bode well for characters like Ezra, whose fate is very much up in the air right now.

Rebels showrunner/creator Dave Filoni has promised that news on his next project (presumably, another animated Star Wars TV show) will be arriving soon, so we may not have to wait long to find out what the future holds for the characters that make it out of Rebels alive. A number of characters who survived the events of The Clone Wars eventually showed up on Rebels too, so there's a good chance that those still standing by the end of the Rebels finale will return in whatever project Lucasfilm has planned next.
