The first six episode titles for the upcoming season of Star Wars Rebels have been revealed. Kicking off its fourth and final season next month, the Disney XD animated series will see the return of everyone's favorite Ghost crew as they become more involved in the budding Rebellion Alliance against the evil Galactic Empire.

If the previously released trailers for the upcoming season are any indication, executive producer Dave Filoni and the rest of the people behind the animated prequel will be treading a darker territory in Rebels 4. The show's season 3 finale was a bittersweet one for the Ghost as although they were able to get out of the clutches of the Imperial forces led by Grand Admiral Thrawn, their base was destroyed leaving them having to start from scratch again. Fortunately, as the bigger Rebellion slowly comes together, the squad will find themselves empowered more than ever as they join the bigger fight not just for Lothal but for the rest of the galaxy.

The information has come courtesy of Jedi Bibliothek (via Star Wars News Net), which on top of just the titles also reveals that we will be getting two episodes per show day instead of the usual hour-long primer and finale. Shall this fast turn-out of installment format continues the rest of the season, Rebels could potentially conclude sometime in December, even before Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters. It's unlikely the properties would have any connection whatsoever, but if there will be, it would be an interesting way as Lucasfilm tries to tie everything together. The episode titles are as follow:

Episodes 1 & 2: “Heroes of Mandalore: Part 1 & 2” (October 16, 2017)

Episodes 3 & 4: “In the Name of the Rebellion: Part 1 & 2” (October 23, 2017)

Episode 5: “The Occupation” (October 30, 2017)

Episode 6: “Flight of the Defender” (October 30, 2017)

It is quite difficult to gauge what the episodes will be solely based on their title except for the season primer which pretty much confirms a Sabine-heavy episode -- an interesting notion especially with the show seemingly trying to develop her character further by shining a light on her Mandalorian roots. Snippets of the Mandalorian fighters fully immersed in the war against the Empire were featured in the second trailer for Rebels season 4, as well as, as a nifty shot of the crafty Ghost crew member still wielding the Darksaber. The first two episodes of the season already had an early screening back in April during Star Wars Celebration Orlando where it was also announced that the forthcoming installment will be the last outing from the beloved animated series.

If anything, Rebels was able to expand the famed franchise lore without compromising the space opera's distinct feel. We were introduced to various new characters and have reconnected with several familiar faces throughout its three-year run. And while it is sad to let our new found favorite Rebels, the Star Wars timeline does not give the show much more time to continue especially with the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story slowly taking shape in the galaxy far, far away.

That said, it looks as though that folks behind Star Wars Rebels have already told the story that they want to tell with season 4 expected to tie various narrative loose ends including Ahsoka's very controversial whereabouts and the ultimate fate of our heroes (and villains, particularly Grand Admiral Threan ). It can be remembered that during Rogue One, only Hera and Chopper were confirmed to be alive and although the Ghost was spotted during the aerial battle in Scarif, we really have no idea what happened to the rest of the team.

Star Wars Rebels season 4 premieres Monday, October 16.
