Star Wars Rebels Season 4: First 6 Episode Synopses Released

The first six episodes synopses of Star Wars Rebels season 4 have been revealed showcasing the Ghost crew’s final battles against Grand Admiral Thrawn and his forces. The hit animated series takes place during the period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, bridging the prequels with the original saga following the adventures of young force user Ezra Bridger and his fellow rebels in their fight against the Empire.

The third season of the series left our heroes in limbo as they escaped the clutches of Thrawn after the destruction of their base on Atollon and the death of Commander Sato resulting in a devastating blow for the rebel alliance. The recent season 4 trailer continues to create even more tie-ins with A New Hope and Rogue One with the return of Saw Gerrera, Tarkin mentioning Krennic and the “Stardust” reference.

It also looks like we are going to learn more about the mysterious connection between Ezra, Kanan and the wolves that has been teased, the Mandalorian civil war, and maybe even answers about Ahsoka Tano's fate after her encounter with former master during the season 2 finale.

A new post on Jedi Insider reveals the episode descriptions for the first six episodes of season 4 that will air each Monday multiple times a day (check out the air time here) between October 15 and October 29. Take a look at the episode descriptions below:

“Heroes of Mandalore: Part One”

Sabine leads Ezra, Kanan and an army of her fellow Mandalorians back to her homeworld to rescue her father from the clutches of the Empire.

“Heroes of Mandalore: Part Two”

When Sabine discovers the Empire has resurrected a devastating weapon she created and plans to use it against her people, she must decide whether to destroy it or use it herself.

Airdate: 10/15/2017

“In the Name of the Rebellion: Part One”

As members of the Rebel Alliance, Ezra and the Ghost crew must accept a mission to spy on an Imperial outpost they would rather destroy.

“In the Name of the Rebellion: Part Two”

After being separated from Hera and Kana, Ezra and Sabine join the desperate quest of Saw Gerrera to hunt down the Empire's elusive secret super weapon.

Airdate: 10/22/2017

“The Occupation”

Ezra and the Ghost crew are called back to Lothal when a new Imperial threat rises.

Airdate: 10/29/2017

“Flight of the Defender”

Ezra and Sabine steal an Imperial prototype TIE fighter but must rely on some unexpected help to escape from Thrawn.

Airdate: 10/29/2017

The premiere episodes 'Heroes of Mandalore: Part One' and 'Heroes of Mandalore: Part Two' will likely bring closure to Sabine Wren's story regarding her sordid past with the Empire and her family. It also sounds like we are going to learn more about this "devastating weapon" she created when she was a cadet at the Imperial Academy of Mandalore, which was used against her own people and to aid the Empire.

The first and second parts of the next set of episodes In the Name of the Rebellion", sounds like there's going to be tension between the Ghost crew and the rest of the rebel alliance as they are sent on a mission to spy on an Imperial outpost they would rather destroy. Based on the description of part 2, it sounds like their plan is going to go haywire with Sabine and Ezra being separated from the rest of the team and forced to work with Saw Gerrera. While Saw is one of the good guys in Rogue One, his introduction in Rebels last season painted him as a character the rebels had a hard time trusting due to his temper, so it's going to be interesting to see where this alliance is heading next season.

The last two episodes, “The Occupation” and “Flight of the Defender” gives us the least detail compared to the other episodes, but they are also the most interesting. In "The Occupation", the rebels are heading back to Lothal as a new threat rises. Knowing the Empire and Thrawn's ruthlessness, this doesn't bode well for the planet or it's inhabitants. The last episode before the break, “Flight of the Defender” teams up Sabine and Ezra again as they steal a TIE fighter, but it sounds like someone new to the rebels is going to be helping them escape from Thrawn. The last time this happened was when Agent Kallus assumed the role of Fulcrum last season, diverting from the Empire, leading us to wonder if someone else like Arihnda Pryce is going to betray Thrawn next.
