Star Wars Rebels voice actress hopes her character, Sabine, gets a spinoff series with Ahsoka. As part of Lucasfilm and Disney's goal to expand the Star Wars franchise, they kicked off their 2014 relaunch with a new animated series. Created by Dave Filoni, the series focused on the formation of the Rebel Alliance and the characters that helped spark the movement. Force-users Ezra and Kanan were at the forefront, along with pilot Hera, the muscle and fearless warrior Zeb, and former Imperial trainee and Mandalorian, Sabine, as as well as their droid, Chopper.

Rebels finally came to a close earlier this year after four seasons on the air. The series finale was satisfying for many fans, but it also left the door open for Star Wars franchise to continue to utilize several of these characters. In fact, at the very end of the episode, Sabine set out on a new mission to find Ezra - and she wasn't going to be alone on this adventure, as an older and wiser Ahsoka Tano appeared ready to join in. Fans have been eager to see that story play out ever since, and the actress behind Sabine hopes they'll get the chance to see it one day too.

Tiya Sircar voiced Sabine Wren for the entirety of Star Wars Rebels and she recently did an AMA on Reddit. Among the many Rebels related questions she was asked, Tiya responded to one that asked about the future of Sabine. Unfortunately, the actress doesn't know (or at least can't say) what the plans are for Sabine, but she's completely onboard for a Sabine & Ahsoka-led series.

"I was so intrigued by that ending! I have no idea what's in store for Sabine but man, I would love it if we got to see her and Ahsoka fulfill their mission to find Ezra. How cool to have a series led by two kick-ass female warriors on a mission to find and rescue their friend?!"

It is not yet known if there will be another animated Star Wars series, but there is more Star Wars content on the way, Sircar isn't alone in wanting this type of series to happen. At the moment, Lucasfilm is currently in development on a live-action Star Wars TV series led by Jon Favreau, which will air on Disney's untitled streaming service. It would be surprising to see if that series is where Sabine and Ahsoka's adventures are explored. There's no word on what Filoni's next Star Wars project is, but as a creator of both Ahsoka and Sabine, he clearly has an attachment to them.

Even though there's no definitive news on what Sabine and Ahsoka's futures are, the chances of this story getting told seems high. That storyline is the biggest lingering thread that could be pulled on in another series from Filoni and his team. Sabine and Ahsoka are fan-favorite characters, so giving them each the leading roles (after previously taking supporting ones) would be great. If an animated (or live-action) series following these two doesn't happen, though, there's still the chance for this story to be explored through other canon materials like comics, novels, or even Forces of Destiny, perhaps.
