The upcoming Ahsoka series is set to include appearances by Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger, key characters from the animated Star Wars: Rebels show. That makes the series more important than ever for fans of the franchise to check out but you might not have the time to watch all 75 episodes.

Similar to The Clone Wars, there are installments that are skippable and aimed at younger audiences mixed in with the brilliant highs of Rebels. If pressed for time, it might be easier to watch the stellar episodes that received the highest ratings from fans over at IMDb.

Trials Of The Darksaber - 8.9

Season 3, Episode 15

Star Wars Season 3 Trials of the Darksaber Sabine and Kanan

The majority of the show sees Kanan Jarrus train Ezra Bridger in the ways of the Force. His prowess as a teacher was on full display in "Trials of the Darksaber" as he helped Sabine Wren learn how to wield the titular weapon.

Hoping that knowledge and command of the Darksaber can get the Mandalorians to their side, Sabine and Kanan bonded in a way that made this episode stand out. The fact that it also ended with the crew of the Ghost professing their loyalty to Sabine no matter what was the emotional cherry on top.

The Siege Of Lothal: Part 1 - 8.9

Season 2, Episode 1

The idea of an episode following the Ghost crew simply on a mission to steal generators sounds basic on its own. However, it's the execution that makes this season 2 premiere work so well. It perfectly follows the season 1 finale and sets things up for the rest of the season.

It was a treat to see Ahsoka Tano fully immersed with the rest of the characters after being such a fan favorite from The Clone Wars. The inclusion of Darth Vader also connected this to the greater franchise and gave the crew an imposing force to go up against.

Shroud Of Darkness - 9.1

Season 2, Episode 18

Ahsoka Tano finds out the truth about Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader in the Jedi Temple in Star Wars Rebels

The animated Star Wars shows are at their best when they explore deeper themes and go to places that live-action shows don't hit due to budget restrictions. "Shroud of Darkness" did that by taking Ezra, Kanan, and Ahsoka to the Jedi Temple on Lothal, where they all experienced visions.

Ezra saw Yoda, Kanan got knighted as a Jedi Knight, and the most important was Ahsoka having a vision of Anakin/Darth Vader. There was action to behold as well but it was the emotionally charged aspects of these visions that made it great.

Fire Across The Galaxy - 9.2

Season 1, Episode 14

Ezra and Kanan vs the Grand Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels

Throughout a good chunk of season 1, the Ghost crew was helped by someone calling themselves Fulcrum. Fans speculated the entire time on what their identity could be, only to find out in this season finale that it was Ahsoka Tano.

Bringing her into another animated series was a great call that further expanded on her history and character. The threat of Ezra nearly dying added to his relationship with Kanan, while things were topped by a shocking appearance from Darth Vader that fans were sucked into.

Twilight Of The Apprentice: Part 1 - 9.3

Season 2, Episode 21

Ezra Bridger Darth Maul in Star Wars Rebels

The impressive run of episodes in season 2 established that this show was truly something special. That was cemented and capped by the outstanding two-part finale, "Twilight of the Apprentice." The first half saw Ezra and Kanan meet the "Old Master" on a Sith world known as Malachor.

This "Old Master" was revealed to be Maul, another iconic character who shined in animation. Maul's manipulation of Ezra proved to be powerful and helped set the stage for an explosive finale that took things to another level.

Twin Suns - 9.3

Season 3, Episode 20

Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul in Star Wars: Rebels, Twin Suns

In "Twin Suns," Ezra received a message that he needed to help save Obi-Wan Kenobi from Maul and though his friends decided against it, he went with Chopper to Tattooine to do so. This marked a rare appearance by Obi-Wan outside of The Clone Wars series.

Fans ate that up but seeing him simply wasn't enough. Obi-Wan had his final confrontation with his old rival Maul and after a tense build-up, their lightsaber duel was short. Obi-Wan cut him down, leading to an emotional culmination.

Family Reunion And Farewell - 9.3

Season 4, Episode 15

A mural of the Ghost Crew as seen in the Star Wars Rebels finale

The series finale of Star Wars: Rebels is double-length and wraps everything up in impressive fashion. It showed that Ezra followed in Kanan's footsteps by choosing to seemingly sacrifice himself for the lives of others.

The stunning aspect came right near the end with the flash forward to five years later. The audience got to see where each character ended up but also found out that Ahsoka and Sabine were going on a mission to find Ezra. The knowledge that Sabine and Ezra will be in Ahsoka suggests viewers will find out what happened.

Jedi Night - 9.4

Season 4, Episode 10

Kanan Jarrus sacrifices himself to save his friends in Star Wars Rebels

When a major character dies in Star Wars, it's typically done in a heroic sacrifice and that was the case again in "Jedi Night." The action-packed episode saw Ezra, Kanan, Sabine, and the others go on an exciting mission to rescue Hera from being tortured by the Empire.

After a heartwarming reunion between Hera and Kanan, tragedy struck. An explosion threatened everyone's lives until Kanan used the power of the Force to control it and save his buddies, losing his own life in the process. That made for one of the saddest moments in Star Wars history.

A World Between Worlds - 9.4

Season 4, Episode 13

Ezra and Ahsoka try and get away from Palpatine in the world between worlds in Star Wars Rebels

The episodes after "Jedi Night" saw the characters deal with the struggles and heartbreak of losing Kanan. "A World Between Worlds" saw things really turn around in terms of action and world building, including revealing the fate of a beloved character.

Ahsoka Tano hadn't been seen since a few years prior in the season 2 finale but Ezra was sent through a portal to the time of Ahsoka's near-demise and saved her. The return of Ahsoka and the lore was praised in this episode, as was the way it led to characters handling their grief better.

Twilight Of The Apprentice: Part 2 - 9.8

Season 2, Episode 22

Ahsoka vs Vader

The aforementioned season 2 finale ended the "Twilight of the Apprentice" two-parter. The story of Maul manipulating Ezra and eventually betraying him was great and Kanan losing his sight was also chilling but it was the arrival of Darth Vader and Ahsoka that made this the show's best episode.

For the first time since departing in The Clone Wars, Ahsoka came face to face with Vader, who she loved as a friend when he was Anakin. Their fight was epic and the scene where Vader's mask gets cut and Anakin's voice shines through has brought many fans to tears. It was even done again for Obi-Wan, showing how perfect it was.
