Star Wars fans of all generations were enthralled throughout the exciting finale for Obi-Wan Kenobi, showing the fateful reunion of two of the galaxy's most prolific and powerful former Jedis. It culminated in the long-awaited and epic duel between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, master and apprentice. They both demonstrated some incredible feats of strength through the Force, but they are not alone in being able to do.

The films and various TV shows have showcased some of the best and most powerful Force-wielders throughout the galaxy, whether they’re Jedi, Sith, or mysterious cosmic beings.

Grogu

The current Star Wars icon not relinquishing his hold on fans’ hearts, Grogu has already showcased some particular abilities that warrant his placement here. While there is very little known about his species, one thing that seems likely is that they have a special connection to the Force. He is over fifty years old, but relatively, he is still quite young and has much to learn.

Following his heartwarming choice to return to Din Djarin in The Book of Boba Fett, though, he might not have another chance to train and learn to hone his powers - only time will tell. Nevertheless, his inherent power, and especially his ability to Force-heal, surpasses some of the best-trained Jedi.

Rey

Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker Rey Daisy Ridley

Although many fans have had mixed reactions to the inconsistencies of the sequel trilogy, it can’t be denied that Rey was a great addition to the franchise. The films only took place over a year or so, but she underwent a serious transformation. It is shown in Episode VII: The Force Awakens that she is just naturally strong with the Force, but Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker showed how far she’d come in a short amount of time.

One of the most shocking moments came when she was fighting with Kylo Ren over controlling the transport that held Chewbacca, but in the struggle,  she lets loose an unexpected surge of Force-lightning. Nevertheless, she was instrumental in finally taking down Emperor Palpatine gaining an even stronger connection to the Force.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi Wan smiling faintly in the show,

For most of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Obi-Wan had practically cut himself off from the force. Viewing himself as a failure for not saving Anakin, he deemed his hermitage on Tatooine as a sort of punishment. However, his adventure with young Leia Organa reminded him of what is still worth fighting for, and his connection was restored.

During his long-awaited duel against Darth Vader, he proved that just because he was out of practice doesn’t mean he’s an easy target. In particular, the moment he lifted the boulders like an Earthbender in Avatar: The Last Airbender – which led to some great Twitter reactions – was quite indicative of how powerful he is. Give him a lightsaber, and Obi-Wan is a force to be reckoned with.

Yoda

Yoda Revenge of the Sith

Among the greatest Jedi to ever serve the galaxy is Grandmaster Yoda. He is the perfect example of a Jedi – though flawed, he has incredible power within him, but he didn’t let it corrupt or control him. At around nine hundred years he still stood as a beacon of light, helped immensely by Frank Oz’s stellar voiceover performance and puppetry.

Yoda was one of the few known characters who truly became one with the force which has allowed him to return as a Force ghost. Even in that state, he demonstrated unexpected strength, calling down lightning onto the temple on Ahch-To in Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Although lower on this list it still marks him as one of the most powerful there ever was. a

Luke Skywalker

While Yoda had centuries of experience under his belt, Luke Skywalker made up for it in sheer talent and affinity to the Force. He was the standard from which any Force-users are compared and often found lacking – that seems to be the case still based on his unexpected appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

At first, it was him using the Force inadvertently to shoot the failsafe and destroy the Death Star, then it grew to enhanced awareness, and finally, by the end of his life, he was able to project himself across the galaxy through the Force. Very few characters could ever rival Luke Skywalker, fitting for the franchise’s first hero.

Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious

As he states in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, “the dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural,” and there is no one better at it than Emperor  Sheev Palpatine aka Darth Sidious. He was responsible for finally fulfilling the ancient plan of Darth Bane to the Jedi Order and taking over the world.

He is so powerful with the force, he was able to easily deceive the Jedi for years, even Yoda. There are also many theories that he claims he was responsible for creating Anakin – manipulating and meddling with the Force to create new life. Plus, he was able to still survive and nearly do it all again, decimating the Resistance with his Force-lightning on Exogal.

Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader

Darth Vader is partially unmasked in the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale

His fight with Obi-Wan is just one of his many incredible and fascinating duels throughout all Star Wars canon, and in each, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader proved how insanely powerful he is. It makes sense for a person seemingly created from the Force. As Anakin, he was already advanced and highly proficient – though he was bested in some fights, Anakin could still perform some amazing feats.

However, when he fell to the dark side and become Darth Vader, he unlocked practically unchecked power. The comics, in particular, highlight his various abilities, decimating one opponent after another, even if they are on his side like the Inquisitors. As defined throughout the franchise, there is no one like Anakin/Vader, and there likely won’t be again.

Bendu

For the longest time, all there was in the Force was the fight between the light and the dark, between good and evil. That is until The Clone Wars and Rebels showcased different aspects of the Force, including the middle through the Bendu. He was a mysterious being living on Atollon who claims to reference the balanced center of the Force.

Bendu is far more than just an ancient creature with an unnaturally strong connection to the Force. He is incredibly wise, helping Kanan as he suffers from guilt and indecision. When threatened by Admiral Thrawn and the Empire, he created an entire storm to destroy them. Fans are eager to see the character again, and perhaps her status as a grey character he could return in Ahsoka.

The Father, Daughter, & Son

One of the strangest, but still greatest arcs from The Clone Wars featured Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka landing on Mortis and meeting three powerful beings. They are the Father, Brother, and Sister, and they seem to represent the facets of the force. The Son is to the dark side as the Sister is to the light, and the Father serves as the balance between the two.

The Father recognized Anakin’s power and fate as the chosen one and selected him to be his replacement in keeping the balance of the Force. In the three episodes they are featured in, each is shown to be so powerful that no one could beat them. Importantly they also figured into one of the best episodes of Rebels, when they appear in a mural guarding the entrance to the World Between Worlds.

Force Priestesses

The Force Priestesses looking on.

The most powerful Force-Users so far introduced might come as a surprise to some fans, however the opinion of Dave Filoni – a legend for creating many of the great Star War tv shows. He’s supported claims that the Force Priestesses are the strongest in the galaxy. They were introduced in season six of The Clone Wars wherein they help train Yoda in living on in the Force even after death.

The Force Priestesses – comprised of Serenity, Joy, Anger, Confusion, and Sadness – are essentially the living embodiment of the Force and the connections uniting everything and everyone. Though they were never shown in a fight, they’re likely as close to omnipotent and unbeatable as possible. Now that the second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi has been proposed, perhaps the Force Priestesses could help train Obi-Wan in becoming a Force Ghost, thus bringing them into live-action.
