Keanu Reeves is a Jedi in a new cool fan-made trailer for a Star Wars film set in the era of the Old Republic. While an official adaptation of a Star Wars story set in an era long before the Skywalkers has yet t0 be made, Lucasfilm had announced earlier this year that a Knights of the Old Republic movie was in the works, although any potential casting, storylines, or actual filming has yet to be confirmed.

Star Wars fans were introduced to the Old Republic via the immensely popular Knights of the Old Republic video games. Set hundreds of years before anyone had heard of Anakin Skywalker, the Old Republic had many epic tales to tell of Jedi and Sith, (including fan favorite Revan, who started out as a Jedi but turned to the Dark Side long before Darth Vader ever existed.) Fans of the video games series have long been clamoring for an official on screen adaptation. Game of Thrones show-runners David Benioff and D.B Weiss were reportedly setting their planned Star Wars movie trilogy in the Old Republic, although they ultimately ended up leaving the project.

YouTuber stryderHD is back at it again with another cleverly edited video, this time featuring Keanu Reeves as a Jedi hero of the Old Republic. Watching Keanu Reeves wield a green lightsaber seems entirely plausible and it's challenging not to feel that familiar Star Wars thrill when a villainous voice in the video says, "Your life belongs to us," and Keanu responds, "Well take it if you can." Check out the entire epic trailer below.

While some fan-made trailers feature stars that would more than likely never appear in the official version of the movie, a possibility of Keanu as a Jedi makes perfect sense. After all, the beloved actor has a proven track record carrying a major movie franchise, and Keanu can't do any wrong in the eyes of the world wide web. While Keanu may be held up for a while filming The Matrix 4, perhaps the stars will align when an actual potential Star Wars Old Republic film begins production.

The future of what's yet to come for the Star Wars universe remains vaguely up in the air. The Rise of Skywalker was supposed to bring the final chapter of the Skywalker saga to an epic close, but it's only opened the door for criticism the film itself created, from limiting Rose Tico from a leading role to a rushed plot that barely took the time to show how Palpatine survived. While one Star Wars chapter has closed Lucasfilm has a goldmine of stories in their hands and it would be a waste not to create a movie or television series set in the Old Republic era. Criticism is inevitable in any major movie franchise, but regardless Star Wars will always have the power to draw fans back to a galaxy far, far away.
