Writer, director and star of The Room Tommy Wiseau has expressed interest in being a part of the Star Wars universe. As many know, The Room is widely regarded as the best worst movie of all time. The 2003 film tells the story of Johnny (played by Wiseau), a successful bank executive who lives in a town house in San Francisco with his fiancee Lisa. One day, Lisa sleeps with Johnny's best friend Mark, and nothing is the same again. At least, that is the tale in broad strokes. As many hardcore fans of The Room know, the film is jam packed full of oddities which - along with Wiseau's truly strange performance - include both characters and plot lines which both appear and disappear from the narrative seemingly at random.

The Room is truly something that has to be seen to be believed, and since its release in 2003 has been screened multiple times a year as a midnight movie. The Room has become particularly popular in the last few years, finding a whole new generation of fans online. The film's resurgence first began when James Franco released his film The Disaster Artist, which dramatized the making of the infamous movie. Since then, more and more fans have been returning to The Room, and in the age of social media, Wiseau himself has become very active online, creating himself an even larger following than he initially received from his movie.

Now, in a new tweet from Wiseauthe multi-faceted performer has expressed an interest to be in the Star Wars universe. The tweet came in response to a tweet from the official Star Wars Twitter page, who tweeted Mark Hamill saying "Oh hi, Mark." This, of course, is in reference to one of the most famous lines from The Room. Wiseau responded to the tweet initially by simply asking to be in put in the Star Wars universe, though he has since amended his statement to say "YOU'RE TEARING ME APART Star Wars!" in another hilarious reference to his film. In a way, it isn't hard to imagine Wiseau stepping into the world of Star Wars. The Star Wars universe is full of unique characters, and Wiseau may be one of the most unique people the world has to offer. He isn't a stranger to putting his spin on other franchises either. Some fans may remember Wiseau blessing the world with his interpretation of the Joker from The Dark Knight, and while it was certainly strange, it will not soon be forgotten by anyone who has laid eyes on it. Wiseau even went on to suggest himself as part of the line-up for The Suicide Squadso ultimately the question is who will score Wiseau first.

While it seems unlikely that Wiseau will actually find his way into the Star Wars universe at the moment, fans have certainly shown their support in his tweet's comments. Perhaps if they are vocal enough, Wiseau's dream can come true. Online petitions have certainly worked in the past, and Wiseau has quite an impressive following. Only time will tell if Wiseau will make it to that far away galaxy, but until then, he can always be found in his town house in San Francisco in The Room.
