A new European movie theater design looks like the Galactic Senate from Star Wars. The Galactic Senate played a major part in the Star Wars prequels. The Galactic Senate Chamber set the stage for Palpatine's rise to power, as well as the epic battle between Palpatine and Yoda in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
A whole new movie-going experience will debut in France next year, thanks to Oma Cinema. The purpose of the theater's design is to give patrons a "vertical immersive experience," but the 3-D rendering on their website gives off major Galactic Senate Chamber vibes. Oma Cinema CEO Pierre Chican said the purpose of the design was to make every seat in the theater the best seat in the house. Check out the design in the video below:
While the movie theater design was probably not meant to hearken back to the days of the Galactic Senate, it's hard not to see the similarities. Movie theaters worldwide had to suffer through long shutdowns due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. A Star Wars-esque movie-going experience would certainly be a big draw for patrons, who otherwise may be hesitant to risk going to the movies. Perhaps the innovative design will set a new trend for movie theaters worldwide.
Thankfully patrons attending the new movie theater next year won't have to deal with the ambitions of the evil Palpatine. Although there are countless streaming options to view films at home, there's still an undeniable magic in going to the movies. This ingenious movie theater may be opening in France next year, but the fun theater design will undoubtedly take patrons to a galaxy far, far away.
