Megan Fox may be known for her roles in blockbuster movies, but she has reservations about appearing in iconic film franchises like Star WarsThe model-turned-actress had her breakthrough role in 2007's Transformers opposite Shia LaBeouf as Mikaela Banes, the sultry and skilled mechanic in the first two films of the saga. Since then, Fox starred in hits such as Jennifer's Body and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Fox has landed numerous magazine covers and gotten her featured in plenty of "Most Beautiful" lists. Despite her heavy media exposure, Fox later chose projects that didn't typecast her in provocative roles. In her latest film, Till Death, she plays a woman stuck in an unhappy marriage when her husband (Eoin Macken) decides to commit suicide while being handcuffed to her. Till Death is currently out in theaters and on demand and Fox opened up about potential future roles while promoting the new film.

While Fox's recent films are smaller in scale than her early works, the 35-year-old actress said she actually misses working on blockbusters. However, she told Yahoo! Entertainment that she has mixed feelings about joining widely successful franchises that she's a fan of. According to Fox, she actually considered joining one of The Hobbit movies a few years back because she loved J.R.R. Tolkien's work, but decided it would just "kill the magic." It is for this reason that fans have not seen her in epic films such as Star Wars.

“It’s hard because there are certain things that I’m a fan of, that I love them so much that I wouldn’t want to be in them. For an instant a long time ago when they were casting a new character in The Hobbit movies, one of the elves, a part of me was like, ‘I have to do it.’ And then a part of me was like, ‘No, it’ll ruin it for you forever to have to be on the inside of it, it kills the magic.’ So it’s hard, because obviously who doesn’t want to be in a Star Wars movie? But then, at the same time, it’s like, ‘I can’t love the movie anymore because I have to look at my stupid face and be upset about all the things I did wrong in it.' So there’s that.”

For many years, Fox has been compared to the likes of Angelina Jolie and many fans called for her to be the next Lara Croft in the 2018 Tomb Raider reboot. She was also a favorite candidate to be the new Wonder Woman before the role officially went to Gal Gadot. She rejected the idea and stuck to playing a wide variety of roles that showcased her versatility as an actress.

While Fox was launched into stardom in her early roles, her recent career choices prove that she is seriously dedicated to honing her craft. These days, the actress and mother-of-three is also known for speaking up about issues on gender diversity, inclusion, and sexual abuse. Despite her conscious effort to keep out of mainstream Hollywood, Fox still attracts a strong following that befits a box office hit. Her big comeback simply depends on the right project. And, with Star Wars and superhero movies riding the trend of expanding cinematic universes, a perfect role may soon come along that would help Fox step back into the spotlight.
