An officially licensed poster based on The Mandalorian has been released that depicts Luke Skywalker and Grogu building a lightsaber. The Mandalorian season 2 concluded at the end of last year, bringing an end to a season filled to the brim with cameos and Easter eggs for Star Wars fans. While the studio has yet to confirm a concrete release date for the show's third season, there are reports The Mandalorian season 3 is currently filming.

In an action-packed finale, the last few minutes of The Mandalorian season 2 see the titular Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) handing off his infant companion Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoda) to Luke Skywalker (Max Lloyd-Jones and Mark Hamill) to be trained in the ways of the Force. Fans were elated to see a young Luke Skywalker in action once again, excited by the implications that a Skywalker-trained Grogu presents for Star Wars lore. While the future of the child's story is still up in the air, a newly released promotional poster offers an idea of what Grogu may be up to with Master Skywalker.

The season 2 finale of The Mandalorian caused quite a stir in the Star Wars fandom thanks to its depiction of a young Luke Skywalker in his prime. Luke's cameo was only possible thanks to Disney's patented de-aging technology, which has now seen use across several of their franchises including Tron, the MCU, and Star Wars. Previously, the extent of Mark Hamill's involvement with the show's depiction of Luke was unknown; however, an upcoming behind-the-scenes special will finally reveal what specific contributions Hamill made to this iteration of Luke Skywalker – based off of teases from Lucasfilm, Hamill's role was supposedly more involved than just being a mere consultant.

It's exciting to catch a glimpse of what's in store for little Grogu, even if the medium it's presented in isn't exactly canon. Fans have been anxious to learn about the infant's ultimate fate, especially due to the fact that the sequel trilogy revealed that Luke's academy was razed by Kylo Ren. Hopefully, the The Mandalorian season 3 will touch on the sorts of Jedi hijinks that Grogu will get into with his new master.
