There isn't much that Star Wars fans can agree on these days, but almost everyone seems to agree that they love Baby Yoda and The Mandalorian. Baby Yoda captured the hearts of fans around the world and The Mandalorian has been praised for getting back to the roots of what made Star Wars work so well in the first place. "This is the way" and "I have spoken" are lines that have already become embedded in popular culture.
Such a popular show brings with it a plethora of fan art. Many fans have put their artistic spin on the characters, relationships, and settings that make The Mandalorian such a beloved show.
The Mandalorian And Baby Yoda
Many of the best moments in The Mandalorian's first season came when Baby Yoda used the Force. Fan art by jojoowong shows Baby Yoda using a Force shield to protect himself and Din Djarin as their enemies fire at them.
It is thrilling to see the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda operating as a formidable team. Din Djarin's armor is presented in all its glory and Baby Yoda is able to wield the Force without passing out soon after. This is the kind of scene that could easily become a reality in future seasons of the show.
Cara Dune
Baby Yoda might've stolen the show, but the series still features plenty of other great characters, including Cara Dune. This excellent fan art by Devin Doty looks similar to the first picture of her released before the show's debut.
Even though the color was going to be added later, the black and white aesthetic works better as it conveys Cara's no-nonsense attitude.
Greef Karga
Baby Yoda helps other characters be the best versions of themselves. This is not only the case with Din Djarin but also with Greef Karga. He is a money-grubbing agent of the Bounty Hunters Guild for most of the first season and he planned to betray Din Djarin and give Baby Yoda to Moff Gideon.
Baby Yoda healed Greef Karga, won his heart, and he becomes a better person because of it. That positive growth is captured in the bright and hopeful colors in The Art of Gard's fan art.
The Dream Team
Episodes 7 and 8 were among the best installments in The Mandalorian's first season. This is largely because fans get to see Din Djarin team up with Cara Dune, Greef Karga, and other compelling characters who'd previously only been in an episode or two.
This fan art by Barry J. Kelly reinforces how epic this team-up is and how there needs to be more of it in the show's second season. Even though the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda are going off on their own quest, the show still needs to find a way for them to work with Cara Dune and Greef Karga again.
Mandalorian VS. Stormtroopers
This excellent fan art by Pradeep Sethi captures the essence of the show. The Mandalorian now cares deeply for Baby Yoda and protects him at all costs against all kinds of enemies.
While he and Baby Yoda encounter plenty of foes, the greatest danger is Moff Gideon and the Imperial remnant he leads. They are the ones who want Baby Yoda the most and will send legions of stormtroopers to attack if necessary. No matter the odds, though, the Mandalorian will always look epic and Baby Yoda will always look cute.
The Mandalorian Meets Calvin And Hobbes
The art style of Calvin and Hobbes meets The Mandalorian in this adorable fan art created by archerxue. The Mandalorian appeals to such a wide audience because of the wonderful relationship between Din Djarin and Baby Yoda.
Their relationship and overall dynamic are at the heart of the show. They help each other grow as characters, oftentimes in ways that are delightful and amusing to watch, much like a Calvin and Hobbes comic.
Sketching The Heroes
The first season of The Mandalorian is superb, but it could've used more Cara Dune. The role was made for Gina Carano and she makes the most of it in all her scenes.
This fan art sketch by Nessa amends that by having Cara Dune appear prominently beside Baby Yoda holding his soup and Din Djarin riding a blurrg. Hopefully, Cara will have plenty of opportunities to work with Baby Yoda and the Mandalorian again in season 2.
Wanted: IG-11
IG-11 is the perfect character to be featured in a "Wanted: Dead or Alive" poster. Teyowisonte's fan art features a clever depiction of such a poster, which is made even better by IG-11 seeing it.
The Bounty Hunters Guild could have put the poster out after IG-11 fails to acquire the Child. The Imperial remnant led by Moff Gideon could also put the poster out after he decimates their forces. IG-11 is used to collecting substantial rewards, but this time the reward is on his head.
Beskar Armor
Here, Devin Doty's fan art focuses on the Mandalorian's beskar armor in all its shiny glory. The color scheme is eye-catching and accentuates all the details that go into the armor.
It definitely has the aesthetic of a poster for the show. Just looking at it makes fans excited to return to The Mandalorian in its much-anticipated second season.
Iron Man-Dalorian
In this one, Jon Murakami created the ultimate Iron Man and Mandalorian crossover fan art. Tony Stark would undoubtedly love to test out Din Djarin's armor and unique weaponry. If the Mandalorian creed allowed it, Din Djarin would enjoy trying out an Iron Man suit as well.
The best part of this fan art is Baby Yoda's dialogue, though. "I love you 3000" has become synonymous with the love fans feel toward Tony Stark and the legacy he cemented for himself in Avengers: Endgame. It is fitting for Baby Yoda to say this after everything the Mandalorian risked to save the Child and give him a better life.
