A brand-new international trailer for Star Wars The Last Jedi finally brings C-3PO into the mix. In many ways, The Force Awakens was as much about checking in on the returning Star Wars characters as it was about setting up the next generation of heroes and villains in the franchise. Because of that, the film trafficked in plenty of nostalgia and homages. With that out of the ay, however, The Last Jedi has the opportunity to dive deeper into the various characters, both new and returning.

Though a big part of The Last Jedi will be focused on Luke Skywalker's past, the story will also progress Rey's evolution as a character and further explore the concept of The Force in the franchise. However, as much as the movie's trailer have focused on Luke and Rey's scenes on Ahch-To together, the Resistance and First Order will still be waging a vicious war against one another when the film picks up. While R2-D2 is off with Rey and Chewbacca and BB-8 is riding shotgun with Poe Dameron, C-3PO will be once again taking his place alongside General Leia Organa/Skywalker.

The latest Star Wars The Last Jedi international trailer (see the video above) mostly recycles footage from the previously-released trailers and TV spots for the film. However, it also showcases C-3PO in the film, confirming that he will be at Leia's side as always while she and she and the rest of the Resistance try and avoid being wiped out by the First Order for good.

While this new trailer doesn't reveal anything major, that hasn't been the case with certain other promotions that fans have been treated to. Costar Adam Driver may have spoiled Rey's parentage in the film - or, if not that, confirmed that the reveal concerning Rey's parents will be a huge moment in The Last Jedi. Meanwhile, various pieces of Last Jedi merchandise have included potential spoilers too, making it all the more difficult for Lucasfilm to keep a lid on the movie's many secrets.

Even for those avoiding some of the more revealing bits of promotion for The Last Jedi, it's clear that a number of plot points will emerge one way or another as we head towards the film's release. Luckily, the movie looks to feature plenty of exciting mysteries and lots of added character development. For those looking to avoid any major spoilers, however, it might be best to stop watching any/all Last Jedi trailers and TV spots that make their way online from here.
