Hasbro has unveiled a new range of Porg products to tie in with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and who could blame the iconic toy manufacturer? The film is still a month and a bit away from theaters and already the Porgs are a major talking point. It’s been impossible to avoid their influence as the Porgs have spread their tiny adorable wings all over pop culture.

These cutesy creatures are residents of Ahch-To and they have been keeping Luke Skywalker company during his self-imposed exile. As hype intensifies for Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII, fans have pored over Porgs, with facts about the little birds being hungrily devoured by fans. One fan has even recreated the entire Star Wars theme song using just Porg sounds, working from toys and trailer footage to make the ear-shredding mix a reality. Even stars as massive William Shatner and Mark Hamill have given into Porgmania, taking to Twitter to banter about the eye-catching aviary animals.

Amid all this Porg hype, it’s no surprise that Hasbro is keen to cash in. The Star Wars franchise has always been synonymous with toys and the Porgs are bound to be the next big thing. With that in mind, Hasbro revealed these figurines at MCM London Comic Con over the weekend:

These Porg figures – one with its legs out and one without, both with terrifically awkward facial expressions - are part of Hasbro’s “Star Wars: The Black Series” line. They measure up at six inches in height. The retail price will be set at $5.99 and the toys will be suitable for children aged four and up. Undoubtedly, Hasbro will shift an ungodly number of these, making the Porg toys a sensible addition to the company’s extensive Star Wars collection.

However, there is something of a catch: these Porg figurines will not be available until Spring 2018, meaning that Hasbro will miss the Christmas rush with this particular item. If you were thinking of picking up one of these as a Christmas present for the Porg lover in your life, you’ll have to think again. Surely, Hasbro will miss out on a fair bit of revenue because of this.

Thankfully, official Porg plushes and Porg Funko Pops are already on the market. You might not be able to nab a Porg Black Series figure just yet, but there are plenty of other options.
