Star Wars: The Last Jedi collectible pint glass that will be an exclusive to Alamo Drafthouse locations this December possibly reveals Luke Skywalker uses a lightsaber in the film. At long last, the old Jedi Master is going to be front and center in the sequel trilogy, following his wordless cameo in The Force Awakens' final scene. It goes without saying that many fans are excited to see what's become of the original trilogy protagonist, who has changed greatly from the plucky, optimistic hero he was during the Galactic Civil War. There's growing speculation (fueled in part by official marketing materials) that Luke is the movie's secret villain and has turned to the dark side, setting the stage for a compelling arc in Episode VIII.

One of the biggest questions about Luke (besides where his allegiances lie) is whether or not he will wield a lightsaber at some point. To date, Last Jedi merchandise has not shown Skywalker with his trademark weapon, and there's been more emphasis placed on his walking stick. However, this doesn't mean Luke won't ignite a laser sword, considering Lucasfilm holds back major plot spoilers from Hasbro in order to preserve surprises for the premiere. While toy manufacturers are left in the dark, the same can't be said for those behind Alamo's latest promotion, which could have multiple Luke spoilers.

To celebrate the arrival of The Last Jedi, the theater chain is selling exclusive products that fans can buy with their tickets. Among the items are three versions of a Mondo glass, designed by artist Oliver Barrett. On Alamo's official website detailing what they have in store, the dark side edition of the glass is shown. Once again, Luke is depicted alongside Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and some First Order stormtroopers, further lending credence to the theory Luke will be evil in Episode VIII. The juicier reveal comes on the light side glass (picture hat tip Imgur), where Luke strikes a pose while holding a very familiar weapon:

Alamo Drafthouse Pint Glass Reveals a HUGE SPOILER about Luke

As always, it's important for viewers to not take this as definitive proof Luke will use a lightsaber in The Last Jedi. This could simply be a misdirect on the part of the studio, with the intention of furthering the debate about Skywalker. On the other hand, there could be some truth to it. Seeing that this is something commissioned by Lucasfilm specifically for the new movie, it would be a cruel bait-and-switch if Luke never uses a lightsaber, and fans take home a collectible glass that shows him wielding one as a keepsake from opening night. Granted, Rogue One advertising included plenty of shots and imagery that never made the final picture (in part due to the massive reshoots), but that promotional strategy drew the ire of fans. One can only imagine the outcry of false advertising should this prove to be a mislead (regardless of the quality of the film itself), and that's probably something Lucasfilm would want to avoid. They've maintained a strong relationship with fans in the Disney era, and they'd like to keep it that way.

Some may be upset that Lucasfilm would spoil this now, with less than two months remaining until release, but this honestly isn't that big of a reveal. Much like the prospect of Rey and Kylo Ren teaming up, this raises more questions about the Last Jedi narrative. That Luke uses a saber shouldn't come as a shock (though that this is blue and not green is somewhat surprising), many will be wondering who he uses it against. Kylo Ren is an obvious candidate there, though some are starting to suspect Luke comes to blows with Rey, so anything is possible. Of all things, a pint glass is going to spur the next wave of Star Wars speculation.
