Like some of Disney's other major blockbusters, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently unavailable on Disney+, but will see a release on the streaming service in the near future. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi is the middle instalment of Disney's Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, which will conclude on December, 20, 2019, with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Picking up right where Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off, The Last Jedi follows the Resistance as they are pursued through space by the First Order. The events lead to the Resistance fleeing to an old Rebel Alliance outpost on the surface of Crait, where the main characters are reunited in a battle against their foes. In a plot twist, Luke Skywalker appears as a Force projection in order to stall Kylo Ren and the First Order, which buys enough time for the Resistance to escape. Luke dies soon after, but Star Wars: The Last Jedi ends with a suggestion of hope for the future.

Eight out of the ten previously released Star Wars films have been available on Disney+ since its launch on November 12, 2019. These include the Original Trilogy, the Prequel Trilogy, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The two films not available on Disney+ at the moment are Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story. However, fans won't have to wait too long to watch the former, as Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be available on Disney+ from December 26, 2019.

The reason behind Star Wars: The Last Jedi missing from Disney+ at launch is quite a simple one, as it has to do with a previous agreement with Netflix. The same is true for other big-name films such as Avengers: Infinity WarAnt-Man and the Wasp, and the aforementioned Solo. However, these films will eventually end up moving onto Disney+ as soon as the various agreements for their streaming on Netflix is up, which is sooner rather than later in the case of The Last Jedi.

Despite missing The Last Jedi, there is still plenty of Star Wars to enjoy on Disney+. Alongside the eight available films, fans can watch: Star Wars: The Clone Wars seasons 1-6; Star Wars: Rebels seasons 1-4; Star Wars: Resistance season 1; a collection of Star Wars: Lego shows; and the major Disney+ exclusive The Mandalorian. But, if you need your fix of Star Wars: The Last Jedi now, especially if planning to rewatch the saga before Star Wars 9, then it can be found on Netflix until its Disney+ release date.
