A new video features the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi attempting to answer the Internet's most searched questions about themselves and the film. While 2017 has seen some massive hits land in theaters, the Star Wars franchise will once again swoop in and attempt to dethrone them all. Similar to The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi may open around $200 million according to many estimates. And though some of its gross will arrive in 2018, it should easily top the global box office for a 2017 release.
Aside from simply bearing the Star Wars name, The Last Jedi looks to have considerable legs thanks to positive reviews so far. The early reactions for the film have been overwhelmingly kind, signaling that writer/director Rian Johnson may have turned in one of the greatest Star Wars films yet. It's no surprise then that Lucasfilm have given Johnson the opportunity to make his own trilogy separate from the core saga. In just a few more days, many of fans questions about the new film will be answered, but some may never truly be solved.
Wired has posted the latest installment in their auto-complete interview series, with the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi answering the most Googled questions about them and the franchise. While many are simple queries regarding their characters, the actors themselves and Jedi, there are plenty of curveballs thrown in for good measure. In particular, we may never truly know the answer to "was finn star wars grey's anatomy."
Though most of the questions revolve around Luke, Rey, and Finn, Laura Dern received her fair share of inquiries regarding her mysterious Admiral Holdo. We know Holdo will be a divisive force in the Resistance, and will play a big part in Poe questioning his leadership skills. As such, Dern will get to apply her considerable talents to the role of an atypical antagonist.
Domhnall Gleeson, meanwhile, was met with a barrage of questions regarding General Hux's backstory. We know Hux will be afraid of the Force, making the question about his Force sensitivity amusing. It's also interesting to learn Gleeson didn't even know his character's first name until an interviewer revealed it to him.
Along with the traditional promotion for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, behind-the-scenes moments like this interview have been a great way for fans to get excited for the movie without spoiling anything. In a similar vein, a recent video explored the shooting locations of The Last Jedi, which appear just as diverse as the planets they stand in for. And once Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out, maybe we'll even get an answer to "do jedis get paid."
