Fan-favorite Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic characters Darth Malak and Bastila Shan are finally getting their own Black Series action figures, with preorders set to begin later this week. Hasbro has produced several Star Wars Black Series figures of popular Star Wars video game characters over the years, including one of KOTOR’s beloved Sith Lord Darth Revan.

However, supporting Knights of the Old Republic characters like Darth Malak and Bastila Shan haven’t gotten the same plastic treatment as their masked co-star - until now. This year’s MCM Comic Con was held a few days ago, and Yackfaceforums.com has covered all of the new figures Hasbro unveiled for its ever-popular Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series lines. In addition to longtime favorites like Mara Jade and Ahsoka Tano, the Black Series will be adding new toys based on Darth Malak and Bastila Shan from KOTOR. These figures and many others will be available to pre-order starting on November 1, and the screenshots provided by the Bossk's Bounty and JediNews Instagram accounts below indicate that they will be released in full sometime in the summer of 2023.

Darth Malak & Bastila Figures Can Hold Fans Over Until The KOTOR Remake

Late last year, Lucasfilm Games and Aspyr Media announced that a PS5 remake of the original KOTOR is in development after years of speculation and fan wishes. However, this highly-anticipated project has suffered several setbacks since then, with development duties being transferred over to Evil Dead: The Game studio Saber Interactive and reports that KOTOR Remake could be delayed indefinitely as a result. Aspyr Media's parent company Embracer Group has assured players that this won’t be the case, but many are still skeptical that such a drastic shift in development won’t impact KOTOR Remake’s release date.

In the meantime, the upcoming Bastila Shan and Darth Malak figures could be exciting news for Star Wars toy collectors, as both characters are extremely popular among fans of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Some fans have even asked for a KOTOR prequel game about Bastila, which would cover her backstory and the Jedi Civil War mentioned in KOTOR. Bastila and Malak figures seem to carry the same level of detail as past Star Wars Black Series figures, meaning they should look great next to the previously-released Darth Revan.

These newly announced Bastila Shawn and Darth Malak figures won’t see a full release until next summer, but fans waiting eagerly for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake can pre-order them in just a few days. With both these figures and KOTOR Remake on the horizon, it seems like an exciting time for players who grew up loving BioWare's seminal Star Wars RPG and the many memorable characters, worlds, and storylines it introduced to the galaxy far, far, away.
