One of the new enemies that players face off against in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is Humanoid Drya Thornne. It is the 6th boss battle in the mid-stages of the campaign and offers new challenges for players. Drya Thornne is the main boss that players will face off against on the Shattered Moon when trying to research Tanalorr in a main quest. Players can improve their chances of success in boss battles by increasing their max health in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Once players have defeated The Reprogrammed Magnaguard on the Shattered Moon they will continue looking for research until reaching a set of platforms at the top of the structure. After finding a shortcut across one of these top platforms, players will enter a room where only one item can be interacted with. A short cut-scene will occur once players have picked up the device and Drya Thornne will appear behind them starting the boss fight.

Boss Drya Thornne's Abilities

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Drya Thornne Boss Battle

Drya Thornne offers a different problem for players than the previous bosses in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as he can turn invisible. However, players can still lock their camera on Drya Thornne to target him and an outline will always still be seen even when he blends into the arena where the battle takes place. He is also one of the fastest and most mobile bosses Cal will face throughout Star Wars Jedi: Survivor making it essential that players are fully focused from the start. Drya Thornne can be one of the hardest bosses in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for many players.

Drya Thornne uses the Crossguard stance for his lightsaber which means in close quarters he is able to perform slower but more powerful attacks which can do a lot of damage to the player quickly. Out of all the lightsaber stances in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Crossguard is the strongest, but also the slowest.

If players do take damage having the maximum stims to use in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to use when required will give them the best chance of victory.

It is the first time players will face an enemy using the Crossguard stance which was first introduced in the Star Wars films by Kylo Ren. Most of Drya Thornnes close quarters attacks will be three-hit combos, but he also has an overhead attack in his arsenal.

His final attacks that players need to be aware of are ranged. Drya Thornnes has a blaster and will also throw grenades at players that can be thrown back causing the boss to be stunned. A red circle will appear around grenades giving players plenty of time to move out of the danger area, or to use a Force Push to send it back his way. This blaster attack should pose little problem for players as he uses it infrequently and shots can easily be blocked.

How To Beat Drya Thornne

The best strategy is to be defensive, parrying and dodging attacks which can then provide openings to damage the boss. Due to his speed, the boss will often run at the player with a flurry of strikes as part of a three-hit combo. Players should attempt to parry his initial attacks before trying to chip away at his health while he is vulnerable.

If Drya Thornne uses his two-hit overhead combo, the first attack can be parried, but the second can't, meaning if players see this coming they need to dodge out of the way. If players try and attack them from the start his stance can cause a lot of damage, quickly putting pressure on the player.

With Drya Thornne's powerful offensive weapons, using ranged attacks can work well in this boss battle. His Stun meter can easily be dealt with thanks to hits with the blaster even if this can take a long time to take chunks out of his health. Using force abilities such as a Force Push can also set Drya Thornne off balance and knock him down providing an opening for players to go on the offense.

The boss fight with Drya Thornne doesn't have distinct stages, as he will continue with the same patterns and attacks from the start to the end of the fight. This makes the battle easier than others as once players have worked out how best to combat him they just need to keep doing it repeatedly. Once players knock him down to the last bit of his health bar, a cut scene will automatically play showing Cal defeating the boss.

Rewards For Defeating Drya Thornne

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Crossguard Stance Unlocked Through Story Progression

Once players have defeated Drya Thornne, they will unlock the Crossguard stance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor which can be very useful throughout Cal's journey. The stance provides one of the most powerful attacking combinations in the game, which is perfect when taking on groups of enemies later in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Players can then recover their health using the Meditation Point to unlock a door to leave the area.

While Drya Thornne can be a daunting boss at first due to his invisibility, players can learn his patterns of attack to gain an advantage. Once players know how to combat Drya Thornne's powerful attacks he can be easily defeated in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
