The Star Wars franchise introduces fans to countless different Jedi Masters over the course of its films and series, many of whom are intriguing characters that fans have grown to love dearly. In their own way, each Jedi has become a fan favorite among enthusiastic viewers.

While characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are thoroughly explored by the Star Wars franchise, other interesting Jedi Masters rarely get their due. As such, many characters with endless potential were ultimately wasted by the Star Wars films and series. Given that there are now more prequels and show being made, maybe the creators within the Star Wars franchise will take it upon themselves to make sure that these characters' legacies are given the recognition they deserve.

Yaddle

Yaddle in Star Wars The Phanton Menace

Master Yaddle was a Jedi Master and member of the High Council during the events of The Phantom Menace. As one of the few known members of Yoda's species depicted in Star Wars canon, her inclusion in the first prequel film has been met with much fan speculation regarding her relationship with Yoda and, more recently, Grogu.

Despite inherent interest in Yaddle's backstory, the films do very little to expand on the character. While comic books attempted to do her justice, she still disappears between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, leaving numerous questions completely unanswered.

Ki-Adi-Mundi

Ki-Adi-Mundi with a lightsaber.

Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Cerean Jedi Master seen as a member of the High Council in all three prequel films. He is eventually killed by his own clone troopers after they are ordered to complete Order 66 during a mission to Mygeeto at the end of the Clone Wars.

Ki-Adi-Mundi was clearly a wise Jedi with plenty of experience under his belt, yet audiences very rarely get to see him in action. Other than a few brief glimpses of Mundi in battle on Geonosis and Mygeeto and a solitary episode featuring his wartime tactics in The Clone Wars, the character is almost always depicted in Council meets, rarely doing anything more than debating the Order's next move.

Saesee Tiin

Jedi Master saesee tiin pilots a starfighter in the Clone Wars

Saesee Tiin was a Jedi Master who was famous for his extreme mastery over the Force, which granted him several abilities that not all Jedi were capable of. Unfortunately, Master Tiin was among the Jedi that attempted to arrest Chancellor Palpatine after his revelation as a Sith Lord, leading to his untimely death.

Saesee Tiin could have been an excellent character had Star Wars chosen to flesh him out more fully. His Force abilities were renowned throughout the Order, as he demonstrated some of the greatest skills ever when it came to his mastery over it. However, he only appears over a few scattered seconds of screentime in the entire franchise before being killed off unceremoniously by Palptine.

Shaak Ti

Shaak Ti from Clone Wars.

Shaak Ti was a female Togruta Jedi who served as a member of the Jedi Council during the final years of the Clone Wars. She was specifically selected to oversee the production and training of the Clone Army on Kamino, but was killed during the outbreak of Order 66.

Master Ti's fate has been a subject of mystery for many Star Wars fans, as multiple deleted scenes for Revenge of the Sith present her death in alternate times and methods. Though her fate is indeed sealed by the end of the film, the mere mystery over its manner earns Shaak Ti the right for more screentime in the franchise.

Kit Fisto

Kit Fisto Dual Wielding in Star Wars.

Kit Fisto was a Jedi Master in the final years of the Clone Wars who was famous for his legendary dueling skills, even holding his own against the vicious General Grievous. Master Fisto is killed by Darth Sidious after he attempts to arrest the chancellor alongside Mace Windu and two other Jedi Masters.

Kit Fisto may have been fleshed out in greater depth thanks to The Clone Wars, but much of his life and career as a Jedi remains unexplored in the franchise. This powerful Jedi who makes numerous appearances throughout the prequel trilogy deserves better than a meager end without putting up much of a fight at all.

Eeth Koth

Eeth Koth and Battle of Geonosis

Eeth Koth was a member of the High Jedi Council in the early years of the Clone Wars who was most famous for his violent incident with the droid General Grievous. Master Koth was removed from the Order at some point before the end of the war, thereby surviving the Great Jedi Purge that followed shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, Koth still ultimately suffers a dark fate after surviving the infamous Order 66.

Master Koth has one of the most interesting stories of the Order 66 survivors, which includes his starting a family in the years following the rise of the Empire. Very little of this story, including exactly why he was removed from the Jedi Order, is seen prior to his death, leaving one of the more intriguing Jedi Masters to die without his full story every being told.

Coleman Kcaj

Coleman Kcaj in the Jedi Council chamber.

Coleman Kcaj is a little-known Jedi Master that appears as a member of the Jedi Council during the events of Revenge of the Sith. Despite very little screentime in the franchise, Master Kcaj has been confirmed to be one of only a handful of council members to have survived Order 66, though his whereabouts thereafter are unknown.

Merely surviving Order 66 is enough to incite interest among Star Wars fans for Master Kcaj, who has has no featured scenes at all in the franchise so far. Nevertheless, despite the films and series neglecting his presence in the past, Coleman Kcaj could very well still appear in future Star Wars series, as his fate has not yet been confirmed.

Oppo Rancisis

Oppo Rancisis sits on the Jedi Council in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Oppo Rancisis was a centuries-old member of the High Council and one of the few Jedi council members to survive Order 66. Little is known about Rancisis, other than the fact that he was trained by fellow council member Master Yaddle.

Oppo Rancisis is one of several Jedi Masters on the High Council that have not been explored at all in Star Wars canon. This crime is made even worse by his survival of Order 66 without any explanation whatsoever, leaving fans to question what Master Rancisis's ultimate fate was.

Luminara Unduli

Luminara Unduli holds her blade in Star Wars

Luminara Unduli was a Mirilian Jedi Master who participated in both battles of Geonosis and trained the traitorous Jedi Barriss Offee. She is killed sometime after the Battle of Kashyyyk, where she had been assisting Master Yoda in the defense against the impeding droid army. Star Wars Rebels reveals that her remains were used by the Inquisitors to lure surviving Jedi into a trap.

Luminara Unduli had the makings of an incredibly interesting storyline following the betrayal of her Padawan learner, yet she is rarely seen after this incident. While the detail of her character's contribution to the Inquisitors following her death is certainly intriguing, fans would have liked to have seen more of Master Unduli while she was still alive.

Plo Koon

Attack of the Clones

Plo Koon was an iconic member of the Jedi Council and one of its few members to appear in all three prequel films. He is credited with bringing the legendary Jedi Ahsoka Tano to the Jedi Order as a child, eventually forming a close bond with her as she grew up. Master Koon was eventually killed while flying above Cato Neimoidia at the onset of the Great Jedi Purge.

Despite sporadic appearances on The Clone Wars, Master Plo Koon did not receive nearly as much character development as he deserved. The character's unique design and signature deep voice lend themselves to a much more fleshed-out back story that audiences never got to see. With future anthology series like Tales of the Jedi on their way, fans can only hope to see more of this underused Jedi Master.
