While the complaints about the lack of Star Wars games over the past near-decade have merit, Jedi: Fallen Order proved upon its 2019 debut to be worth the wait for a single-player story. Not only is the story fantastic, but the characters are incredible. Through them, the canon gets some immense quotes, some of the best Star Wars video game quotes ever, in fact.

Whether it be imparted wisdom from elder Jedi, hilarious quips from Greez, or emotional single lines of dialogue, this Star Wars game has some of the most memorable character quotes in the franchise.

Cal's Defiance In The Face Of Evil

"You Would Be Wise To Surrender." "Yeah, Probably."

Cal Kestis battles with Darth Vader whle trying to escape in Jedi Fallen Order

While some fans believe that Darth Vader is getting relied upon a bit too often, Vader's appearances in the new canon are iconic and incredible. For most players, Jedi: Fallen Order is no different.

Cal's defiance in the face of Vader, who urges him to surrender, is admirable but also gets fans worried that Cal might not make it out of the game alive. Ezra showed defiance to Vader and only lived to tell the tale because Ahsoka interrupted them. Cal luckily makes it out of the battle, making his bravery in this line all the better.

Saw's Message Of Hope

"The Fire Still Burns. Hope Still Burns. The Jedi Are Not Yet Lost. We Are Not Yet Lost. Kashyyyk Is Not Yet Lost. For The Cause!"

Saw Gerrera and Cal come up with a plan to infiltrate Imperials on Kashyyyk in Jedi Fallen Order

Saw Gerrera continued his string of appearances in the Star Wars canon through Jedi: Fallen Order, joining Cal on Kashyyyk in an attempt to infiltrate the Imperial stronghold there, all the while helping out the suffering Wookiee's.

This quote is not as extreme or as violent as Saw's usual rants about defeating evil, it is more hopeful, and a bit of hope in Star Wars is always welcome by fans. Saw's message here is one of never backing down in the face of evil and that no matter the odds, hope will live on amongst the fighters like him and Cal.

Cal Is Knighted

"By The Right Of The Council, By The Will Of The Force. Cal Kestis. Rise. Jedi Knight."

Cal Kestis gets Knighted By Cere Junda In Jedi Fallen Order

The Knighting process of Jedi is one rarely seen, happening for the first time in canon in Rebels and only ever being seen on-screen apart from that in the 2002 Clone Wars series. It happens again in Jedi: Fallen Order and is just as fantastic as it is in the other two projects.

Cal may have gotten off to a rocky start in terms of his quality as a protagonist, but as the game progresses, the character gets better and better, and players find it easier to invest in him. He thoroughly deserves his Jedi Knight status, and the Knighting by Cere is goosebump-inducing.

Vader's Return And Trilla's Final Words

"You Have Failed Me, Inquisitor." "Avenge Us."

Vader arrives on Nur and kills Trilla in Jedi Fallen Order

Similar to his iconic hallway scene in Rogue One, Vader pops up in Jedi: Fallen Order in a terrifying manner, with his breathing being heard first before his dark figure appears to kill Trilla.

Trilla, aka the Second Sister, may well be the best character in this Star Wars game. To see her die at the moment where it looks as though she is on the cusp of redemption is gut-wrenching, especially since, in her final words, she acknowledges that she is doomed.

Eno's Lesson On Failure

"No, Failure Is Not The End. It Is A Necessary Part Of The Path."

Cal Kestis watches a holorecording of Eno Cordova in Jedi Fallen Order

Eno Cordova is far from the best character in Jedi: Fallen Order. In fact, as far as sage Jedi Masters go, he is pretty lackluster. However, he does have a couple of great pieces of wisdom, including this line to Cal.

The idea that failure is necessary and is a beautiful thing is prominent in Star Wars, perhaps best articulated by Yoda in The Last Jedi. Cal had to learn how to not only deal with failure but use it on his journey in the Force, a lesson Eno teaches him here.

Greez's Outburst At BD-1

"Hey! Get Your Lasers Off My Lunch!"

Greez Dritus moans at BD-1 for scanning his food in Jedi Fallen Order

Greez has some great character development through Jedi: Fallen Order and is a good presence in what many consider one of the best Star Wars games ever. But, for a lot of it, he is the comic relief and is solid in the role.

He has some great lines regarding Merrin, Dathomir, the Boggling stowaway, and Cal. However, this burst of anger at BD-1 maybe his best line, hilarious on its own as a moment, but made better by the delivery of Daniel Roebuck.

Jaro Tapal's Message About Persistence

"I Will Honor Your Teaching. And Your Sacrifice."

Cal encounters a vision of his Jedi Master Jaro Tapal in Jedi Fallen Order

One of the best aspects of Jedi: Fallen Order is the relationship between Jaro Tapal and Cal Kestis as Jedi Master and Padawan, shown through flashbacks and a painful vision late in the game.

In that vision, a short duel ensues between the two before Cal reveals that he has come to terms with the loss of Tapal, a crucial moment for the young Jedi. Given the heroic sacrifice Tapal made and how difficult Cal found it to deal with, this is a beautiful moment of closure. It is made even better by Tapal's final words, another outstanding quote, "Persistence reveals the path."

Merrin & Cal Join Forces

"Nightsisters And Jedi Do Not Fight Together. But  Survivors, We Adapt."

Merrin decides to go with Cal Kestis Jedi Fallen Order

Jedi: Fallen Order is full of great character dynamics. One of the absolute best is that between Cal and Merrin, an unlikely duo with an undeniable spark that fans are excited to see more of in Star Wars games.

This line by Merrin comes when she decides to join Cal and become a survivor and a fighter instead of remaining on Dathomir, where she had gotten manipulated for years and lost her people. The idea of found family and allies being in the unlikeliest of places are prominent in this quote and the relationship between the two great characters in general.

Cere Imparts Jedi Wisdom On Cal

"We Will Always Struggle, But That Is The Test. It's The Choice To Keep Fighting That Makes Us Who We Are."

Cal and Cere prepare for landing in Jedi Fallen Order

With her past as a Jedi, Cere Junda has a base level of incredible wisdom that gives way for a tonne of great lines, with this perhaps being her best as she talks to Cal about how struggles must be used to continue marching forward, to continue fighting.

It is an idea found throughout Jedi: Fallen Order and not depicted better than in this line. The temptation of the dark side is always there, the want to give up will always linger, but the choice to fight, the will to stand up in the face of fear and evil is what makes not only the Jedi who they are but makes people who they are, and Cere vocalizes this to Cal beautifully.

Jaro Tapal's Encouragement Of Failure

"Do You? Good. Keep Failing. Keep Getting Back Up. That Is The Only Way To Succeed."

Cal Kestis trains as a Padawan under Jedi Master Taro Japal in Jedi Fallen Order

With his incredible design as a Lasat and an immense vocal performance from Travis Willingham, every moment involving Jaro Tapal in Jedi: Fallen Order is pretty great, and he has many fantastic lines like this one.

Tapal is not necessarily a calm, serene Jedi Master; he is strict, intense, but supremely fair and precisely what Cal needed. Complaining about failure similar to Luke on Dagobah, Cal almost gives up, but it is demanded of him by Tapal that he keep pushing forward, that he use his failures to learn, to adapt, and to fight. It is an incredible lesson from the Jedi Master and one Cal takes into later life.
