A new cinematic trailer for Star Wars: Hunters reveals several members of the game's diverse playable roster, including a Mandalorian, a Sith, and two Jawas stacked on top of each other. The mysterious mobile team-based action game was announced in February 2021, but since then little new information has been provided. Star Wars: Hunters is said to pit players against each other in competitive multiplayer using original Star Wars characters created for the game.

Although it was announced early in 2021, Star Wars: Hunters still largely remains a mystery. What little official information has been released about the game reveals that it will feature wholly original characters, rather than well-known characters from the franchise. However, many of these characters appear to be reminiscent of beloved Star Wars figures, including a Wookie warrior similar to Chewbacca and a Mandalorian bounty hunter similar to Boba Fest. The title will also see several different factions from throughout the intergalactic franchise represented, including the Jedi, Sith, Empire, and Rebellion. Gameplay is also said to focus on arena combat, though no actual gameplay has been revealed thus far.

A new cinematic trailer for Star Wars: Hunters, posted to developer Zynga's YouTube channel, gives a closer look at the multiplayer title's setting and characters. The action takes place within The Arena, a place of competitive combat, on the desert planet of Vespaara. The main focus of the trailer is Rieve, a shrewd warrior of the dark side who wields a red lightsaber. Aran Tal, meanwhile, is a deadly Mandalorian bounty hunter not unlike beloved figures such as Boba Fett and Din Djarin. The Wookie warrior Grozz, the rebel veteran Zaina, and the Imperial loyalist Sentinel also add to the exciting roster of original characters. Star Wars: Hunters' most impressive fighter, though, is two Jawas in a trench coat who look like kids trying to get into an R-rated movie. The Star Wars: Hunters website has been updated with information about all of these unique fighters.

Given the huge number of different characters and factions within the ever-expanding Star Wars universe, many fans have begun theorizing which characters could appear in Star Wars: Hunters. While it appears that the team-based action game will focus solely on original characters, different planets and factions could be represented in a variety of ways. The character Slingshot appears to use an iconic Droideka as a vehicle, so it is possible that other combat droids from the Clone Wars could make an appearance. Jedi and Sith are never far from the action in Star Wars, so it seems likely that more representatives from those factions will also appear.

While no gameplay of Star Wars: Hunters has been shown off yet, the multiplayer action game does sport a very colorful cast of warriors. These characters are all original creations, but many of them represent archetypes that are often found within the franchise. From Mandalorian bounty hunters to Imperial stormtroopers, players will find many familiar faces in the Star Wars: Hunters roster.
