Hayden Christensen visits Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and builds a lightsaber. Debuting in the late '90s as Anakin Skywalker in George Lucas' prequel trilogy, the actor has had a bit of a tumultuous relationship with the beloved franchise. In conjunction with the poorly received prequel trilogy, he was also brutally criticized for his performance as the Jedi-turned-Sith Lord, causing him to shy away from the space opera altogether.

Fan opinion of Christensen has mellowed during the last couple of years in light of the Star Wars renaissance with the ongoing sequel trilogy, similar to how their views of the prequel trilogy have changed - something that even Ewan McGregor took notice of. Christensen made an appearance at 2017's Star Wars Celebration, where the original trilogy celebrated its 40th anniversary. Christensen returned to Star Wars Celebration this year, proving that he's become more comfortable with his affiliations with the franchise. Now, he takes it further by paying Disneyland's latest Star Wars attraction a visit.

Shared on Twitter by Sasaki Time are images of Christensen's recent trip to Galaxy's Edge, where the actor gamely poses in front of and inside the life-size Millennium Falcon. He also created a blue lightsaber, which he eventually handed to a young girl. Fans are understandably thrilled to see the photos, especially with the actor looking like he enjoyed his time at the theme park.

With Christensen slowly becoming more and more visible again in the Star Wars community, many are wondering if this is a sign that he'll soon reprise his role as Anakin in a future film or a Disney+ series. McGregor, who he worked closely with during the prequel trilogy is finally headlining his own Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show after years of speculation, and based on the public's initial response to this development, not to mention their warm reception to the revival of Star Wars: Clone Wars, there's clearly a part of the massive fan community interested in seeing these characters at this particular moment in time.

If a solo project is not in the cards for Christensen, there's still a way to bring him back to the Star Wars forefront. J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is tipped to wrap up the Skywalker saga and what better way to do that than by bringing in the character who really started it? The fact that Ian McDermid is already confirmed to reprise his role as Emperor Palpatine is an indication that Lucasfilm is willing to bring back old characters in this final chapter. Darth Vader's presence has been looming large in the sequel trilogy anyway as Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) primary motivation is strongly rooted in his fanaticism about his late grandfather, so it makes sense that Anakin would make an appearance in one way or another. Assuming that this is indeed the case, Christensen's Celebration and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge appearances are a great way to set-up what could be a truly amazing surprise.
