Disney's fan-favorite Star Wars-themed event, Star Wars Galactic Nights, is making a comeback to Disney's Hollywood Studios this December. Last year, the celebration was first executed and has quickly won over fans from around the world. So this year, the House of Mouse has decided to do a repeat of the festivities where fans can take part in a bigger and brighter gather that involves a slew of celebrity guests, awesome fireworks, and those cute lightsaber churros. The event will take place on December 16 -- a day after the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters.

Directed by Rian Johnson, the film will be the continuation of the new lore that The Force Awakens started in 2015. It will see the return of our newest favorite characters like Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron as well as our legacy characters, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa. The narrative specifics of the film is still being tightly kept under wraps with both Johnson and Hamill urging fans to avoid as much marketing as they can for unwanted spoilers, fans can expect a couple of answers for some existing mysteries surrounding the sequel trilogy.

The news of Star Wars Galactic Nights coming back this year has come courtesy of the official Star Wars website, where it details all the various treats for fans who would like to partake in the event starting with red-carpet welcome fit for Hollywood A-listers. The packed evening will then continue with several attractions like performances of Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away and fireworks display during Star Wars: Galactic Spectacular. Meanwhile, a one-night-only panel that will tackle on what else is to come via the previously announced the Star Wars-themed landStar Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Obviously, the event won't be complete without any photo op session as a memento of the joyous occasion. Fans can snap to their hearts' content in front of very detailed backgrounds that are made to mimic the real-life shooting sets of the films while Ewoks, stormtroopers, and droids will be wandering around the vicinity. Darth Vader and his own army of stormtroopers, on the other hand, would be marching down Hollywood Blvd.

Bringing back Star Wars Galactic Night this year a day just after The Last Jedi opens in cinemas is a great marketing ploy from Disney as the two properties can feed off of each other's market draw. Those who have watched the film and would still want to immerse themselves in the "galaxy far far away" can do so by visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios and partake in the event. While those who may have chanced-up on the gathering can be intrigued by it which could eventually lead them to check out the film. Nonetheless, those who are die-hard Star Wars fans would undoubtedly enjoy both offerings.
