Fan-made Star Wars Funko Pops turns Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Porgs into cannibalistic pilgrims. Following J.J. Abrams’ initial installment in Disney/Lucasfilm’s sequel trilogy, Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi (2017) took the franchise in directions that have more than proven divisive. For example, the film turned Luke Skywalker into a hermit who attempted to kill his nephew, haphazardly killed off Supreme Leader Snoke without revealing anything about his past, and made Rey a nobody.
Perhaps the only thing fans agree with is that Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Porgs are cute. The species of sea-dwelling beakless birds are native to the planet Ahch-To, where Luke decided to live in exile. Similar to the cuteness of Return of the Jedi’s Ewoks or The Mandalorian’s Baby Yoda/Grogu, Porgs have not only helped to sell toys but permeated popular culture during The Last Jedi’s theatrical run.
Now, Instagram user popvinylguy has shared some fan-made Star Wars, Porg-themed Funko Pops in honor of the holiday season. The post shows off three figures; one that turns a Porg into a turkey, and the others are pilgrims prepared to hunt and cook a Thanksgiving feast. Check out the post below:

Funko is the best-selling vinyl figure manufacturers on the planet, working with the biggest studios to create detailed collectibles of fan-favorite characters and/or real-world human beings. Given Disney and Lucasfilm’s influence on popular culture, Funko works with the latter studios as much as (if not more) than any in the industry. New Funko Pops! hit the market following or in promotion of every new Star Wars project—from the sequels to The Mandalorian.
Given The Last Jedi and its follow-up Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s lackluster reception, it remains to be seen if any of the sequels’ characters or lore will be seen again on Disney+ or the big screen. Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver have said they aren’t opposed to reprising their roles at some point if it makes sense. However, the overwhelming success of The Mandalorian has resulted in a handful of other Disney+ shows, including The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, focusing on a period long before the events of the sequel trilogy. Also, the upcoming Star Wars films will presumably be mostly unrelated to the Skywalker saga. That being said, who knows when audiences will see Porgs again. However, the brilliantly designed Thanksgiving Funko Pop might be enough to convince some fans to call for their return.
