John Boyega shares a sweet photo of a dedicated Star Wars fan and all of his Finn merchandise. Boyega became a household name back in 2015 when he was cast in Disney's rebooted Star Wars trilogy. He first joined the franchise in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, playing a Stormtrooper who defects from the First Order after witnessing too many injustices. Fans were eager to see Finn's arc over the course of the trilogy, particularly after it was hinted he might be Force-sensitive. In total, Boyega played Finn in all three movies, with his final appearance coming in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Unfortunately, like most of Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy, Finn's storyline ended up disappointing fans. While The Last Jedi kept him sidelined in a big way, The Rise of Skywalker attempted to make up for past mistakes, but it came a bit too late. Last fall, Boyega spoke up about his disappointment with how Star Wars handled Finn's characterization, stating they "gave all the nuance to Adam Driver, all the nuance to Daisy Ridley," the franchise's white leads. Most fans came to Boyega's support, and the actor has since moved on to other projects like Steve McQueen's Small Axe.

Boyega might be frustrated with how Star Wars treated him, but he still has love for the fans. The actor recently shared a photo of Alvin, a very passionate Star Wars fan who has collected a great deal of Finn merchandise. The picture is of Alvin showing his Finn pride, and Boyega shared it to his own profile with the caption "I see you!!!" You can see the heartwarming post down below.

Even if Finn's arc proved to be disappointing, the above post shows the bright side of his time within Star Wars. Finn resonated with so many fans, and it's wonderful to see them continuously show their support for both Boyega and his character. As Star Wars' first Black lead, Boyega made his mark on the franchise, and fans won't forget that anytime soon.

Since stepping forward with his criticism of the franchise, Boyega confirmed he had an honest talk with Disney about his experience. Though it likely wasn't a pleasant time, one can hope that Boyega's openness about his story will lead to some positive change. Already, the character of Finn has inspired fans everywhere (again, see above), and Star Wars will hopefully continue to take vital steps forward when it comes to onscreen representation. After everything, the fans have Boyega's back... and evidently all of his merchandise.
