In one of his most brutal Star Wars kills, Darth Vader murdered two Inquisitors with their own weapons after believing he was getting betrayed by the Jedi-killing hunters. In Darth Vader #20 by Marvel Comics, readers are introduced to two unnamed Inquisitors, whose affection for one another rubs Darth Vader the wrong way given his past, resulting in the Sith Lord killing his own soldiers by turning their lightsabers against each other.

In the Star Wars Universe canon, eleven Inquisitors have been introduced, as the evil Jedi, hunters act on behalf of Darth Vader to hunt down and kill those who escaped the Order 66 protocol. Throughout the Star Wars live-action and animated movies and shows, comic books, video games, and expanded media, the strongest Inquisitor is their leader and highest-ranking member in the Empire, The Grand Inquisitor. However, there are ten more Inquisitors under him, including the Second Sister from Jedi: Fallen Order, the mysterious Eighth Brother who appeared in Star Wars Rebels, and Reva the Third Sister and Fifth Brother who recently made their live-action debuts in Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+.

In Darth Vader #19 & 20 by Charles Soule, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Daniele Orlandini, Travis Lanham, Erick Arciniega, and Dono Sánchez-Almara from Marvel Comics, Star Wars readers are introduced to two unnamed Inquisitors, a Male Twi’lek Inquisitor and a red-skinned female Inquisitor. After the Inquisitors take down Eeth Koth and kidnap his child, Vader turns on the red Inquisitor after learning she initially let Koth's wife and child free before changing her mind. Vader is surprised to see Twi’lek Inquisitor block his strike at the red Inquisitor. The Sith Lord reveals he sensed an attachment (potentially romantic) between the two Inquisitors and given his past and embrace of the Dark Side, he would not allow that.

Darth Vader Hunts Inquisitors

Darth Vader begins a chase after the two Inquisitors, believing it will only be a matter of time before they betray him and attack the Empire. After tracking them down and getting knocked to the ground, Darth Vader stops the red Inquisitor from striking him, force choking both of his former evil Jedi hunters at the same time. As the Twi’lek Inquisitor tells his partner they will finally be free, Vader lunges their lightsabers into each other, killing them in a single move. It's hard to deny the act isn't personal.

Vader Inquisitors Star Wars

The deaths of the Inquisitors at the hands of Darth Vader showed the villain would never be done hunting, even after the Jedi survivors from Order 66 were all eliminated or disappeared. The Inquisitors were just the next logical target as soon as one showed even the smallest amount of push back. Vader saw the red Inquisitor's actions to temporarily let Eeth Koth's wife free as an act of betrayal, and when he tried to kill her, the other Inquisitor briefly saved her by blocking his strike. Sensing a partnership between the pair led Darth Vader to one of his darkest Star Wars kills ever, ending the life of the Inquisitors by stabbing them with each other's lightsabers. It doesn't get more brutal than that.
