Andor subtly suggests that the Star Wars universe is introducing a new Sith threat on the capital planet of Coruscant. Luthen's shop is shown as containing a number of Sith relics, which suggest that the secrets of the dark side of the force continue to circulate on Coruscant. While it's not clear if Luthen is aware of what he's dealing with, the artifacts could hint at a new Sith villain at some point in the future of Star Wars.

In Andor, Stellan Skaarsgard's Luthen is a dealer in arts and antiques, using his job as a cover for traveling around the galaxy as well as funding the rebellion. This includes a number of Andor Easter eggs including a Padme Amidala-style head piece, Mandalorian armor, and even the Sankara stones from Indiana Jones. Most concerning, are a number of Sith relics, including armor, a Holocron, and a Dark Lord helmet. Luthen may be ignorant as to these items' true power, or simply see them as part of the necessary evil of fighting the Empire. However, they could pose a major issue for Coruscant and the Galaxy at some point in Star Wars' future.

Among the items seen in Luthen's shop is Sith stalker armor, which was used by feared Sith assassins. The shop also contains a Holocron, a pyramid-shaped item used to contain Sith knowledge. The holocron was previously seen in an arc of Star Wars Rebels, where Darth Maul sought the holocron on Malachor to activate a hidden super-weapon. Andor marks the first appearance of a live-action Sith Holocron. It's not clear whether this is the same Holocron depicted in Rebels or a different item, but it could contain valuable information for the Rebels -- or the Sith.

The biggest threat glimpsed in Luthen's shop may be the Sith helmet. The helmet seen in Andor has the same design as the Dark Lord helmet that is used in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game and marks the player character's final turn down the Dark Side path. While this game is not currently considered part of Star Wars canon, Disney's extended universe material, such as the Lando and Darth Vader comics and the Aftermath novels, confirm that Sith helmets have the power to corrupt even innocent-minded users, meaning that these artifacts could pose a threat even after Star Wars' Empire is defeated.

What Happened To These Dark Side Artifacts After Andor?

Given Andor's general disinterest in the Force, it seems unlikely that these items will play a major role in the series' second season. However, the lingering presence of Sith artifacts on Coruscant could lead to new Star Wars villains during the period after the fall of the Empire, when The Mandalorian and related series are set. Having a continuing trade in Sith relics and lore would be a great way to explain how the Dark Side practices survived after the defeat of Palpatine and Darth Vader, and could even contribute to the rise of the First Order.

Star Wars has already established that the Jedi and Sith have the resonance of myth or folklore during the Empire's height, which presents the danger of Star Wars' dark side cults, as well as the kind of mysticism we see Mon Mothma's daughter engaging in during Andor. Luthen may see selling Sith artifacts as just another moral compromise he has to make to overthrow the Empire, but it could lead to a new threat on Coruscant in Star Wars' future.
