The upcoming release of The Clone Wars season seven looks to finally complete Dave Filoni's vision of his epic Star Wars animated series. After the show was canceled during the Disney acquisition, the fans and Filoni have clamored to give the series a proper finale.

However, that finale needs to bring a lot of answers. The show is the glue that holds not only the prequels together, but now has roots extending to Star Wars: Rebels, The Mandalorian, Resistance, and even the Sequel Trilogy.

The Status Of Mandalore Between Trilogies

Dave Filoni, as well as other authors in Star Wars canon, have alluded to a final showdown between Maul's forces and the Republic on Mandalore. It has been some of the most establishing work on these people and planet in any Star Wars material out there.

Now with the finale setting a majority of its season on the planet, fans will finally see the fate of all the major players and set the groundwork for their return in series like Rebels and The Mandalorian.

The Formation Of Crimson Dawn

One of the biggest shocks of the current Star Wars era, for better or worse, was the return of Maul in Solo: A Star Wars Story. The reveal that he is the mastermind between the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn makes total sense, what with his criminal involvement in Clone Wars.

But, after the events of Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir, Maul's criminal empire had crumbled. How does Crimson Dawn form by the time of Solo? With this being the only connective tissue, perhaps it can answer just how this former Sith lord rebooted his criminal power.

Early Rumblings Of Rebellion

In Revenge of the Sith, there was an entire subplot removed from the final film. Lucas had planned to show Padme, Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and other Senators to show the early rumblings of resistance against Palpatine, showing the early seeds the Rebellion planted.

Sadly, with it removed, this crucial element was never seen. Now, if the upcoming season of Clone Wars ends during or after Revenge of the Sith, this fantastic bit of character service for Padme can finally be included and revealed to a wider group of fans.

How Much Maul Knew Of Sidious' Plan

The opening lines of the newest trailer for season seven included a monologue from Maul himself. In it, Maul states the coming changes to the galaxy, the fall of the republic and Jedi, and the rise of the Empire. Though Maul was second to Sidious during the events of The Phantom Menace, how much does he really know of Palpatine's grand plan?

Due to his lost nature and alienation from the Sith, one would think he wouldn't ever have been that privy to Sidious's actual schemes. But, if we are to believe the lines in the trailer, Maul knows far more of the coming storm about to hit the Jedi and galaxy at large.

Where Ahsoka Has Been

Ahsoka has reappeared a few times since her exit from Clone Wars, appearing both in Rebels and briefly via her voice in Rise of Skywalker. But, in the enclosed timeline of this series, she has been absent for a whole season.

As fans, there's no doubt we all would like to know if not see a bit of her life since leaving the Jedi order. Is she surviving well? What has she been doing in regards to work? A little has been revealed from the Ahsoka novel, but more should be shown here in the series.

Order 66

This event is one of the most tragic and important in the established galactic history. By order of Emperor Palpatine, all Jedi were to be hunted down by Vader and his troops. This sequence remains one of the most powerful from all the Prequels.

If the timeline is to be believed, there is a chance that fans can see what became of many of the Jedi only featured in the series. The younglings from The Gathering, Ahsoka, and others all could have their true histories revealed.

What Happens To Rex Between Clone Wars and Rebels

Star Wars: Rebels gave fans a great addition by bringing in Captain Rex, Wolf, and Gregor. These clones all went against their programing, fleeing from Order 66 and refusing to murder their Jedi partners in war.

But, how exactly did this trio escape in their abandoned walker? What happened to Rex between Clone Wars and Rebels? Although the series can't be expected to fill in all the cracks, seeing how exactly his path begins between then and Rebels would be satisfying.

Rey's Grandmother?

This one is perhaps a pretty big stretch, especially considering how much groundwork the final season has to accomplish before time is over. But, the Sequel Trilogy is now over and done with, and with it comes a slew of questions as the Original Trilogy did.

Perhaps there could be some hints are seeds dropped in regards to both Palpatine's master plan on Exagol, as well as his supposed romantic partner? How and when did Palpatine have children, and who with? Was his son actually just a clone? It's questions like these that need to be answered at some point.

Din Djarin's Early Days

Once again, this series has been in development probably since before the Disney Aquisition even occurred. That being said, they certainly could and have worked in elements from other projects since the show's cancellation.

Since this season has so much to do with the Mandalorians and their homeworld, perhaps we could see a young Din Djarin starting out as a Mandalorian Foundling? It might be a bit of a stretch, but it could be enough connective tissue to satisfy fans of both series.

Caleb Dume's Role

Speaking of connections to current Star Wars Lore, the trailer for the upcoming series seemed to have offered up exactly that. In one shot, you can see many members of the Jedi council, both in person and via hologram standing around a tactical table.

One Jedi in particular, Depa Bilaba, can be seen standing alongside what appears to be her Padawan learner. If it is her student, it would be none other than Caleb Dume, aka Kanan Jarrus from Rebels. While it is a longshot, perhaps Billaba and Dume can play a semi substantial role in this season.
