After helming the character’s live-action debut in The Mandalorian episode “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” Ahsoka Tano’s co-creator Dave Filoni is spearheading an entire spin-off series centered around the fan-favorite Togruta ex-Jedi, simply titled Ahsoka. The series will run concurrently with The Mandalorian’s plot threads, building toward a “climactic story event” that will bring all of Disney+’s Star Wars series together.

Ahsoka has a long, expansive history in the Star Wars universe, from The Clone Wars to Rebels, and during her stint as one of the franchise’s most beloved characters, she’s connected with a few others who could appear in her upcoming series.

Bo-Katan

It’s possible that, with the Darksaber storyline and the impending quest to reclaim Mandalore, Bo-Katan will be too crucial to The Mandalorian to jump ship and appear in one of its spin-offs.

But she does have a long history with Ahsoka. She’s the one who introduced Mando to Ahsoka in the first place. So, there might be a spot for her in an episode of Ahsoka’s new series.

Luke Skywalker

After the glorious final scene of The Mandalorian’s second-season finale, Star Wars fans can’t wait to see more of Dark Trooper-slaying, post-Return of the Jedi Luke in action. It’s possible that Ahsoka could meet Luke.

The two could bond over being two of the only Jedi left (although Ahsoka technically renounced the order, she still practices the light side of the Force) and, more importantly, their shared affection for the most hated man in the galaxy.

Commander Rex

Captain Rex

Ahsoka has made many friends during her time on Star Wars’ animated series, but one of her closest allies has always been Captain Rex, later promoted to Commander Rex.

The Rebels finale confirmed that Rex was the soldier with the white beard who can be seen on Endor in Return of the Jedi (it’s funny how that worked out), so he’s primed to appear in Ahsoka.

Grogu

Grogu uses the Force to save Din from the Mudhorn in The Mandalorian

Now that Grogu will be training under Luke, he probably won’t be on The Mandalorian anymore – at least for a while – and the internet will have to cope without “Baby Yoda” (which of course, it can’t).

Ahsoka refused to train Grogu, but she did make a connection with him via the Force. It’s possible she’ll visit him at Luke’s Jedi academy to see how his training is going.

Mace Windu

Samuel L. Jackson has been eager to return to the role of Mace Windu since Disney announced that it was acquiring Lucasfilm and putting a bunch of new Star Wars projects into development. Canonically, Windu survived the fall on Coruscant.

By the time Ahsoka takes place, Windu would be a bitter, aging Jedi living on the fringes of the galaxy with bad scarring from Palpatine’s Force lightning. Even if it’s just a one-off, that would be fun to explore.

Cad Bane

Cad Bane wars a big hat and aims his gun in Star Wars art.

Ahsoka crossed paths with a lot of different bad guys throughout the seven seasons of The Clone Wars, from Darth Maul (newly rebranded as just “Maul”) to General Grievous.

One such villain was Cad Bane, one of the Star Wars universe’s most badass – and ruthless – bounty hunters. It would be awesome to see him in live-action form.

Ezra Bridger

Ezra Bridger holds his saber from Star Wars Rebels

Whereas Ahsoka was the young, naive padawan butting heads with experienced Jedi masters in The Clone Wars, Ezra Bridger was the young, naive padawan in Rebels, and Ahsoka had become the experienced Jedi who acted as his foil.

The upcoming universe of Mandalorian spin-offs is the perfect place for Ezra to make his live-action debut. Before becoming a Jedi, he got by as a small-time crook on his home world of Lothal.

The Mandalorian

Mando

Just as Ahsoka made a guest appearance on an episode of The Mandalorian, the Mandalorian could make a guest appearance on an episode of Ahsoka.

Since Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic, and The Book of Boba Fett are all being spun off from The Mandalorian, it’s easy to assume that Mando will be in all of them, even though there’s no way Pedro Pascal has time to be in four shows at once. But Mando and Ahsoka’s team-up in “The Jedi” was so much fun, it would be great to see them reunite to face another common enemy on Ahsoka’s show.

Grand Admiral Thrawn

Thrawn's rise to power is the central through line in Star Wars: TIE Fighter.

When Ahsoka appeared on The Mandalorian, she was hellbent on getting Magistrate Elsbeth to reveal the location of her master. After besting the magistrate in the episode’s Kurosawa-inspired climactic duel, Ahsoka named the guy she was looking for: Grand Admiral Thrawn.

It’s possible that Thrawn is being primed as a Thanos-style big bad for the entire Mandalorian TV universe, but since Ahsoka’s specifically seeking him, it would make sense for him to make his live-action debut in Ahsoka.

Anakin Skywalker

Anakin was Ahsoka’s first master, and the two developed a close friendship. Ahsoka was almost as heartbroken as Anakin’s own master Obi-Wan when she found out he’d turned to the dark side, destroyed the Jedi Order, and become the Sith Lord Darth Vader.

In Return of the Jedi, Anakin finally returned to the light. With Hayden Christensen returning in Obi-Wan’s miniseries, he could also show up as a Force ghost in Ahsoka for a frank apology and a post-mortem on their friendship.
