Bounty Hunters are a key part of the Star Wars universe. They are contract killers who are paid huge sums of money to carry out very specific tasks. Both the light and the dark side have used these mercenaries and some have actually rejected the path completely.

With so many to choose from, we've had to narrow down the list to 10 of the most renowned Bounty Hunters from across the galaxy. Here are the main Bounty Hunters from weakest to strongest, based on skill, intelligence, fame, wealth, and success.

DENGAR

Dengar is almost a running joke in the Star Wars universe. Although he is said to be very dangerous, rarely do we seem him being of any use. He has a strange look with a scarf round his neck, although bonus points for being voiced by Simon Pegg on a number of occasions.

The Bounty Hunter is said to be one of the best in the business and he has been given countless high-end jobs; however, we wonder if he gets by through sheer luck, or if he's actually quite good at letting other people do the dirty work, becoming an opportunist.

AURRA SING

Aurra Sing is far more skilled in combat and even more intelligent than Dengar. She's a lethal warrior with a great success rate with a sniper blaster. While she's also gifted in close proximity, if you are hiring Sing then you are hiring her for her long-range assassination talents.

We recently learned from Lando that Aurra Sing was killed in action by Beckett and so we won't be seeing her return to the franchise any time soon. She's lower on this list due to this major failure, but she has been a consistent hunter throughout.

IG-88

IG-88 appears in The Empire Strikes Back.

It's difficult to reason with or fight against a droid that is so determined to carry out his mission. IG-88 is an especially powerful Bounty Hunter because he doesn't need to slow down. He doesn't get tired, wounded or hungry and can just keep chasing.

He's a threat for anyone with a bounty on their head and in combat he is so skilled with a blaster, with multiple shots being fired at once in an interesting spinning display. The character is harsh, straight to the point, although stupid in many areas.

EMBO

Embo

Embo is one of the characters from an ever expanding universe that has appeared in some of the books and TV series but should really be given more focus. He doesn't speak much, becoming a silent killer with an incredible moral compass.

Although he is in it for the money, like anyone else in the profession, his strength comes from knowing when to do the right thing. Plus, he's so skilled with a crossbow that his enemies really need to be careful when the weapon is in hand.

JANGO FETT

Jango Fett isn't as high on the list as you may think as we haven't actually seen him do all that much. While he is the start of the clone empire and has been shown to kill another Bounty Hunter, he was actually killed in battle pretty easily.

We assume that the Mandalorian armored killer was good at his job since he had built up so many accolades. He was a strong pilot and good with some blasters, but outside of this we can only assume that he was having an off day when facing Mace Windu.

BOSSK

Bossk is a malicious alien Hunter without any remorse for his prey. In fact he and his species are actually known as expert hunters and play war games on their home planet where they hunt Wookies for sport.

Needless to say, if you want a job well done then Bossk is the Bounty Hunter that you hire. He always completes his task and has a pretty perfect record. He's faced down jedi before and is strong enough to beat someone in hand-to-hand combat without the use of any weapons.

CAD BANE

Cad Bane may seem like a dangerous intergalactic cowboy, but there's so much more to him. He's actually one of the most complex characters on this list and has both fought both for and against the Republic over his long career.

He usually does whatever his client wants him to do and is a through-and-through Bounty Hunter. While he sometimes has villainous intent there's a code and a level of respect that is missing from a number of people on this list that he actually possesses.

JAS EMARI

Jas Emari is actually one of the main characters of the Aftermath trilogy of books and is one of the most formidable Bounty Hunters in the galaxy. She starts her arc as any other has on this list but eventually joins up with the new Republic.

The character is well-versed in blaster fighting and hand-to-hand combat and is incredibly resourceful. While she has a number of emotional weaknesses, she has built up a team of great allies and has a number of useful contacts in her dangerous industry.

DYN JARREN

Dyn Jarren is the name of the lead in the latest Disney Plus series, with the Mandalorian warrior making quick work of some of the jobs he's been assigned. We've seen how resourceful he can be in a difficult situation and we've also learnt about his moral compass.

He's got a code that he sticks to but is not afraid to disintegrate a few people along the way. He's been beaten a couple of times but also has the ability to take down major monsters and beasts and has a variety of skills and weapons to do so.

BOBA FETT

Boba Fett must be one of the most famous Bounty Hunters in the whole of Star Wars and the reason for this is his iconic look. Across the films we don't really see him do anything, but we learn that he has a stellar reputation.

From the expanded universe and the new canon novels, comics, and TV shows we can see just how versatile he is and actually how good he is at his job. There's no one else out there quite like him and he's easily surpassed the legacy of his father.
