There's been renewed interest in Black Krrsantan following his debut appearance in the second episode of The Book of Boba Fett. The character is relatively new to the Star Wars universe, initially debuting in 2015's Darth Vader #1 from Marvel Comics. However, with Black Krrsantan making his first live-action appearance, there have been questions on how to pronounce his difficult name. According to the bounty hunter's creator, Kieron Gillen, he's not actually 100% sure - but he's got a guess.

Black Krrsantan debuted in Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larocca's Darth Vader series for Marvel Comics, as he was one of the bounty hunter's working for Jabba the Hutt. Jabba would provide the Sith Lord with his two best hunters, the Wookiee Black Krrsantan and Boba Fett. The former gladiator played a key role in Darth Vader tracking down Cylo. He would also later work for Doctor Aphra on a heist on Son-tuul Pride following the Battle of Yavin, and the Hutt Twins on Tattooine. The character made his live-action debut this week in The Book of Baba Fett on Disney+, where he was referred to as a Gladiator by his fellow bounty hunter. Black Krrsantan is seen working for the Hutt Twins.

From Kashyyyk, to Notluwiski Papanoida, to URoRRuR'R'R, the Star Wars Universe has no shortage of unique names, with some being more difficult to pronounce than others. The latter part of Black Krrsantan has often been a topic of discussion, as the four consecutive consonants at the start of the Wookiee bounty hunter's names have often caused some confusion on his name's proper pronunciation. Kieron Gillen, who co-created the character with Salvador Larocca admitted he wasn't exactly sure how to pronounce it either.

Gillen did offer his take on how he pronounces the name, however. He followed up the Tweet by offering his phonetic pronunciation of Black Krrsantan, saying he does "K-rur! San-tan." It's no wonder Doctor Aphra has referred to Black Krrsantan by a number of nicknames during their comic book adventures, including "Black K," "BK," and "Santy."

While Star Wars fans know how to pronounce Chewbacca, given his importance and relatively easy name, other Wookiees like Black Krrsantan are much more difficult to attempt. From Shrandhnrignh, to Tojjevvuk to Grouaggerl, Wookiees have always had some of the more unique names in the Star Wars Universe. Although, it seems fans will have to learn how to pronounce Black Krrsantan's name as he could play a vital part in upcoming The Book of Boba Fett stories. "K-rur! San-tan" sounds good to us.
