After a tense and brilliant teaser trailer, the official trailer for Star Wars' Andor is finally here. If fans were not already rabidly excited for this newest Disney+ original show, they are after this trailer which helps set the tone and gives fans glimpses of what is to come. There are many vital reveals and takeaways from the trailer that builds on what fans already knew from the teaser trailer.

There are crucial character reveals, fascinating story points, visual beauty, and just a lot to pick apart and digest from the trailer, and fans cannot wait for the show to arrive finally.

Delayed

Perhaps the only negative to come out of the Andor trailer was the reveal that the show had been delayed by three weeks, premiering on September 21st rather than August 31st, with the silver lining being that three episodes would premiere rather than just two.

It is understandable why the show has been delayed, with this period congested with great nerd content such as She-Hulk, House of the Dragon, and Rings of Power all coming out in such a short space of time. Fans just hope this does not snowball into other content being delayed by much more noticeable degrees, especially with The Bad Batch's second season releasing on September 28th.

Those Visuals

Whereas the other live-action Star Wars shows have made use of the volume technology for their visual effects, something noticed and even criticized at times, Andor will not be using it, instead going 'old school' with it, and it appears to be paying off.

This is not to say that every single shot and detail of the trailer was perfect looking, but overall it just looks remarkable. The cinematography looks cinematic and artistic, and it gives some beautiful Star Wars visuals, already looking as though it has done it better than other Disney+ shows.

Cassian's Home Planet & Other Locations

Young Cassian Andor on the planet Fest

It has been said for a while that Andor will explore Cassian's childhood, which looks to be the focus of a portion of this trailer which, if true, means the show will take place, partly, on Fest.

That is not the only planet in the trailer, of course, with audiences also getting another look at Coruscant in all its Imperial glory and underworld filth. There is also a good bit of Ferrix, the primary setting of the season, and Cassian's home-after-home which appears to be heavily used for scrapping, similarly to Bracca. Other locations are also on display, such as the Imperial facilities, with planets like Aldhani not obvious yet.

More Characters & New Names Revealed

Cassian Andor's Imperial Intelligence agents

As expected, the trailer gave audiences a lot more of the show's characters, with Cassian, Mon Mothma, and Luthen Rael all having roles, alongside other characters fans do not know too much about as of yet.

Names were given to some characters, such as Supervisor Dedra Meero (Denise Gough,) Corv (Nouf Ousellam,) Captain Vanis Tigo (Wilf Scolding,) Lieutenant Keysax (Nick Moss,) Sergeant Linus Mosk (Alex Ferns,) Tey Kolma (Ben Miles), and Kleya. Yet unnamed but still prominent in the trailer is Adria Arjorna's character, captured by Meero and other forces, as well as sharing a moment with who is theorized to be her brother, Cassian.

All Sides Of The Rebellion

Mon Mothma in Andor

One thing fans should remember going into Andor is the time it takes place, that being around 5 BBY (for the first season), a time when the rebellion was not a rebellion but cells fighting on different fronts without unity and often not even knowledge of others like them.

This trailer showcases the different aspects of rebellion that will come into play as leaders attempt to create something bigger and more meaningful. There is the extremist side of things, shown through the trailer arguably biggest reveal, the more noble side coming from Mothma, and then there is the side that is yet to choose how they fight, but who come to realize that one way or another they do, that being Cassian himself. The trailer does a great job at showcasing the juxtaposition of the various ways to create a revolution.

Cassian Infiltrating The Empire

A key story point of the trailer is Cassian talking about and then being shown infiltrating the Empire, wearing the uniform, and seemingly breaking into their mysterious facility that is used for who knows what.

This may well be the mission that Luthen wants Cassian to go on, or it may just be something done by Cassian himself for whatever reason. Nevertheless, it looks like it will provide a lot of fun for audiences. The overconfidence of the Empire has gotten touched on throughout Star Wars, and it seems like it will be on full display here.

Luthen Rael More Than Meets The Eye

Luthen Rael in Star Wars Andor

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the trailer was seeing more of Luthen Rael's character, with it being revealed that he is more than just a rebel, but someone who appears of a high social and economic status.

As he prepares to meet Mon Mothma, Luthen is readied in fancy, expensive clothes in his impressive home, joined by Kleya. This appears to be Luthen's costume as he perhaps plays both sides of the war; he is a rebel, fighting in the dirt, but uses this costume of power to work from the inside, similar to Mothma perhaps. His story remains one of the most intriguing of the series, especially since it seems unlikely he will make it out alive.

Saw Gerrera & The Partisans

Saw Gerrera and Luthen Rael in Andor Trailer

It has long been rumored and speculated - as well as near enough confirmed by Stellan Skarsgård a while back - that Saw Guerrera would once again return to Star Wars in this show, and it made too much sense for it to be passed by. This trailer officially confirmed the return, though.

Following more minor roles in The Bad Batch and Jedi: Fallen Order, it will be interesting to see how large of a role he plays, but he may be key to the moral ideas of the story as the harsher, more unlikable side of the rebellion gets showcased. The Partisans, such as 'Two Tubes' (Benthic), also appear in the trailer, and fans will be hoping they take part in some gritty action scenes.
