The next year in Star Wars is set to be a big one for fans of Ahsoka Tano, with not only her own titular show coming in 2023 but Tales of the Jedi focusing half of its episodes on her story. She has one of the best and most fascinating stories in Star Wars, and much of her compelling arc can be summed up by her own often iconic quotes.

Whether they're from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels, the live-action TV series on Disney+ or in the extended canon, there is a slew of Ahsoka Tano quotes that are brilliant and reflective of her character.

A Reckless, Risk-Taking Padawan

"How Am I Supposed To Learn If You Won't Let Me Share The Risk?"

Anakin Skywalker Ahsoka Tano Clone Wars

In her younger years, particularly in the first three or four seasons of The Clone Wars, Ahsoka is often fierce, fiery and reckless, desperate to be a part of the action and follow in her master Anakin Skywalker's footsteps, getting angry when she is not able to do so.

Whenever Anakin proves himself protective over Ahsoka, she does not take it well, and this line exemplifies that. Not only that, this line showcases how she grows so much in this regard, going from this type of outburst, desperate to fight and dive into these situations, to someone calmer and more assured.

Finding Her Place

"I'll Let You Know When I Figure It Out."

For so long, longer than perhaps it seems on the surface, Ahsoka could not quite figure out her role, her place in the galaxy. Even as a Jedi, Ahsoka questions her role, confused at the Jedi position of both peacekeeper and soldier.

Then, of course, she has to venture out on her own, which is when this quote comes, found in the Ahsoka novel when Bail Organa asks her what she is, if not a Jedi. She does not know. She is venturing into a new galaxy, having known nothing but war and conflicting teachings, and that unknown, that independence, and figuring herself out is a crucial element of her character and story.

Challenging Roles

"Isn't It Our Duty To Speak Our Minds And Advise The Chancellor?"

Ahsoka and Padmé walk away from Anakin in The Clone Wars

As she grows during the Clone Wars and experiences war and life more, she realizes the galaxy is not all painted in black and white and simply split between good and bad. She begins challenging the roles of the Jedi and what they should and should not be doing for people.

This is shown perfectly in this quote from "Heroes on Both Sides," a great and underrated episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, in which Ahsoka challenges Anakin's comment about his role not being to urge peaceful solutions to the Jedi Council and the Chancellor. In this episode, Ahsoka truly learns that she does not understand the war, something that would stick with her for the rest of the show and even beyond.

A Confident Quip

"You'll Find I Have Many Qualities For You To Dislike."

There are few lightsaber duels in Star Wars better than Maul vs. Ahsoka during the Siege of Mandalore, which not only is emotionally charged with superb motion-captured choreography and beautiful visuals but one that has a few great lines like this.

This is just such a typical Ahsoka line, highlighting how much she appreciates everything she learned from Anakin and Obi-Wan — despite her strained relationship with the latter — and her earned confidence in the face of Maul. She will do things her way, taking from what she has been taught while putting her own stamp on it, and she does not care who does or does not like it.

Some Things Are Not Easy

"Nothing Worth Doing Ever Is."

Ahsoka and Rex reunion in Star Wars: Rebels

Anakin is often regarded as Star Wars' most tragic character, but Anakin is not the only Star Wars character who lost almost everything. Ahsoka is often in that boat, and her continuing to fight was not something she found easy.

In fact, nothing Ahsoka ever experienced was easy. Fighting the Clone Wars, choosing to leave the Jedi Order, becoming Fulcrum, Malachor, none of it was easy, but she did it. It was all worth doing, and that is what she tells Kanan here; often, doing what is easy is not worth doing.

Remembering A Friend

"I've Seen What Such Feelings Can Do To A Fully Trained Jedi Knight, To The Best Of Us."

Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian

Ahsoka Tano knew exactly what happened to Anakin, what monster he turned into, but she still retained the respect and fond memories of her big brother and former Master, recognizing that they are not the same.

Anakin is perhaps the biggest influence in Ahsoka's life, and even after all that happened, she still regarded him as the best a person can be. There are many lines from Ahsoka that showcase her appreciation for Anakin, but the significance of this is that she retained that love and respect even after knowing about his fall to Vader.

What A Jedi Should Be

"When You Find People Who Need Help, You Help Them No Matter What."

Ahsoka tells Trace that she learned to fight from her older brother in Star Wars The Clone Wars

To many Star Wars fans, few of the Jedi of the prequel era in the Skywalker Saga live up to the idea of what a Jedi should be. Ahsoka Tano is the perfect example of what people believe the Jedi should be, and this quote showcases that.

No care for upsetting higher-ups in the world of politics, no care for someone's background, just simply a desire to help those who need help, whether that is to survive, live a good life, or get out of trouble. Ahsoka can be seen abiding by this desire for her whole life, and it helps make her so likable.

They Do Not Deserve To Die

"They May Be Willing To Die, But I Am Not Going To Be The One Who Kills Them"

Rex and Ahsoka look out on the clones who are ready to kill them due to Order 66 in The Clone Wars

The story of the clones is a tragic one, particularly in that they were bred to be brainwashed into killing their generals and friends. Ahsoka recognizes this and refuses to kill them during "Victory and Death."

This great moment between Rex and Ahsoka, two of Star Wars: The Clone Wars' best characters, shows Ahsoka's good heart. She will not kill them. She does not even want to hurt them, doing so only out of self-defense, recognizing that what is happening to them is not their fault. The fact she can go through this with no hard feelings toward the clones, going as far as to bury them all as the individuals they are, is a testament to her character.

The Downfall Of The Jedi

"This Is Why People Have Lost Faith In The Jedi. I Had Too Until I Was Reminded Of What The Jedi Mean To People Who Truly Need Us."

Ahsoka argues with Obi-Wan in The Clone Wars

One of the many great things about rewatching The Clone Wars is seeing Ahsoka's slow disillusionment with what the Jedi have become, culminating in her leaving the Order. Hand-in-hand with this disillusionment is a realization that they can be so much more.

The Martez sisters help Ahsoka realize this, showing her that the Jedi can be what the people of the galaxy need. Ahsoka seems to hold this belief long into her life as she supports the creation of a new Jedi Order under Luke, clearly seeing the good in him that made fans adore him. Ahsoka always wanted the Jedi to be for the people, not just soldiers to fight a pointless war, and that is a huge aspect of her character that set her apart from others from her era.

Ahsoka's Iconic Line

"I'm No Jedi."

Ahsoka's most iconic line in Star Wars is also one that perfectly sums up who she is and her journey, from someone who knew nothing but the Jedi to someone who realized she had to be different.

In one sense, this quote showcases how iconic of a character she is; even those who do not know Rebels and maybe have not even seen Ahsoka properly know that she said this great quote. She is on her own path, which is one of the many reasons that fans adore her. Empowering, elegant, memorable, and wonderful, just like she is.
