Jango Fett is evidently the man with the most desirable genes in the galaxy, acting as the specimen from whom millions of Republic Clone Troopers were created. These troops became an essential feature of the Star Wars universe, acting as the primary soldiers for the Republic, and eventual betrayers of the Jedi during the infamous purge under Order 66.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars gave fans a deeper look into the clones as characters over its seven-season run, and follow-up series, such as Rebels and The Bad Batch, have continued this trend. As a result, the clones have become more than soldiers. Fans have grown attached to the clones, and some have become fan favorites over the years.
99
Despite only appearing in one Clone Wars story arc, 99 worked his way into fans' hearts quickly. The defective clone is portrayed as being a pariah among his brothers and is refused the opportunity to serve as a soldier, instead being relegated to janitorial duties on the Kamino training platforms. Nevertheless, this steadfast clone remains positive, happily doing whatever he can to help his brothers' cause.
99 grows close with the Domino Squad during their time training on Kamino. When Echo and Fives return home ahead of a Separatist invasion, 99 insists on doing whatever he can to help them defend their home. It is in this battle that 99 dies heroically as he attempts to restock their armaments in the midst of battle. His legacy lives on, however, in the designation number of the Bad Batch, who, like him, are considered "defective" clones.
Hevy
The resident renegade of Domino Squad, Hevy made his first appearance in a season 1 episode of The Clone Wars entitled "Rookies," which kickstarted one of the greatest arcs in Clone Wars history. His death marked one of the first tragic deaths that the series would later explore, as he sacrificed himself to blow up the droids invading his team's base.
Despite his limited appearances, Hevy is remembered as an inspiration: a clone who was selfless enough to lay down his life for all of his brothers. Hevy never made it past the Rookie designation, but it was his sacrifice that allowed his comrades to survive to later become ARC troopers, which was always his dream.
Omega
Omega is a new addition to the Star Wars canon, and a surprising one at that. The only female clone known so far, she has become an integral part of the Bad Batch, helping them through a post-Clone Wars galaxy. As she trains under the watchful eye of Hunter, her skill set continues to grow.
A clone unique in her own right, Omega balances out her squad well, bringing a youthful energy to the war-weary Bad Batch. She livens their spirits after the betrayal of their former friend Crosshair, and gets them out of a few scrapes along the way. With a second season of the series upcoming, Omega's role in the Star Wars universe is only beginning.
Commander Cody
Commander Cody served in the 212th Battalion under the supervision of Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi. The two served well together, participating in several important missions, including the defeat of General Grievous, until Cody fired on the Jedi after the issue of Order 66, nearly killing him.
Cody always radiated competence and dignity, the perfect soldier and commander. He was consistently ready to take the lead on dangerous operations, and always fought alongside his troops. His fate is left unexplored after the rise of the Empire, and many fans have held out hope that Cody will resurface in the Kenobi Disney+ series next year.
Echo
CT-1409 became known as Echo to his fellow troopers due to his tendency to repeat a commander's orders moments after they had been given. In his time serving in the 501st, Echo rose from a rookie to the coveted rank of ARC trooper, until he appeared to die in an explosion during the Citadel raid.
Echo stood out among other clones in the franchise with his unique personality and easily identifiable armor. His return was something that fans only heard whispers of, until the seventh season of the Clone Wars finally confirmed his survival. Now, viewers enjoy his continuing tenure as a member of the Bad Batch.
Wrecker
The large and lovable Wrecker is an integral part of the Bad Batch, acting as the muscle in most of their missions. He has a child-like fascination with explosions and destruction of any kind, and tends to enjoy seeing action in a way that many other soldiers do not.
Despite his intimidating size, Wrecker truly does have a soft heart, as evidenced by his sweet relationship with Omega, whom he treats like a little sister. He is sweet, caring, and one of the bravest members of the Bad Batch team, who will fight for his family to the bitter end.
Fives
Yet another member of the Domino Squad, CT-27-5555, better known as Fives, is one of the clones that The Clone Wars focuses on the most. Fans were able to witness his rise from a rookie to one of the most decorated members of the 501st Legion over the course of several years.
Fives has the distinction of being the one man to discover the truth about the inhibitor chips placed in every clone's head that would cause them to betray the Jedi--his one mistake was trusting the Chancellor with that information. Fives was tragically killed before he could make this knowledge public, and fans will always wonder what would have happened had he been able to warn the Jedi.
Hunter
The leader of Clone Force 99, Hunter has enhanced senses and a Rambo-esque fashion sense. He has led his squad through plenty of hard times, including the betrayal of one of their own. He is a fully capable commander and soldier, with plenty of victories under his belt.
What makes Hunter stand out, however, is not his battle skills, but the quality of his character. He takes the young Omega in after the betrayal of the clones, essentially becoming her surrogate father, and continually places his life on the line to protect his teammates. His selflessness and outgoing concern for his friends make him the perfect clone to follow in a galaxy that has gone off the rails.
Rex
Captain Rex is perhaps the most recognizable clone trooper in the Star Wars universe. From the distinctive blue markings on his armor to the trademark dual-wielded pistols, Rex in many ways became the face of the Clone Wars series. Even after the conclusion of that series, Captain Rex has continued to get better and better with time.
Rex is beloved by fans of the franchise not only because of his importance, but because of his steadfastness. He is a man who will stand by his morals no matter what, even if it means ripping an inhibitor chip out of his head to do it. Rex is a great soldier and a good man, one who will fight to the last for what he believes in.
Boba Fett
Boba Fett is different from any other clone in that he was specially commissioned by his father Jango to be, for all intents and purposes, a "real boy." Though his genetics were still exactly the same as his father's, Boba aged at a normal pace, unlike the other clones. Eventually becoming one of the galaxy's most feared bounty hunters, Boba Fett is also one of the franchise's most iconic characters.
Boba Fett is capable, ruthless, and fearsome as one of the greatest bounty hunters in the history of the franchise. Even over forty years after his initial debut, he has remained popular enough with fans to warrant getting his own spinoff series. Fett is clearly the superior clone among the many other millions, filling his father's shoes with style.
