Even though Obi-Wan Kenobi is now over, Star Wars fans have so much to look forward to, including Andor, Ahsoka, and, of course, The Mandalorian, whose main character has become one of the most beloved and best bounty hunters in Star Wars. He comes as part of a long line of great bounty hunters from the Galaxy far, far away, the best of which Ranker users have ranked.

Outside of Force users, bounty hunters have consistently been some of the biggest badasses and best characters in Star Wars, often living in a gray area of morality and stretching across all-eras, and there are plenty of great ones to choose from.

Note: Due to the nature of Ranker's voting, these results may change. At the time of publication, this list is correct.

Dengar

Star Wars Dengar Simon Pegg

Whereas many great bounty hunters in Star Wars have become well-known through shows like The Clone Wars, Dengar has been remembered for years as a part of that iconic lineup of bounty hunters in The Empire Strikes Back. Although, he has not quite reached the heights of others in that group.

Dengar's appearances in the canon have been dotted about in various comics and a few appearances in The Clone Wars. Still has a pretty interesting story, living beyond the Galactic Civil War and staying competitive in the game due to his cybernetic augmentation, which also led to his iconic look in The Empire Strikes Back. Dengar was a confident hunter and often backed that up, getting some time to shine in the ongoing Bounty Hunters comic run.

Aurra Sing

Aurra Sing shooting blasters in Star Wars The Clone Wars

A total badass whom some believe has been slightly disrespected by way of an off-screen, fleetingly mentioned death, Aurra Sing is one of a handful of standout bounty hunters who make their name in The Clone Wars.

Deadly, arrogant, and incredibly intimidating, Aurra Sing has pretty much everything a fan wants in a bounty hunter, including a kickass character design. Debuting in The Phantom Menace, Sing has not got a huge catalog of appearances but makes the most of what she gets, particularly in The Clone Wars. Her skills, particularly as a markswoman, make her one of the most skilled bounty hunters of the era. On top of all that, she was a mentor to Boba Fett, whose legacy needs no hyping up.

Embo

Embo

A Kyuzo with a badass hat, a badass bowcaster, and an overall badass presence, Embo truly showcases in The Clone Wars how bounty hunters live a varied life. He can be seen defending farmers from pirates, fighting Maul and Mandalorians for the Hutts, and battling Anakin Skywalker for Darth Sidious.

Embo is a fan-favorite bounty hunter, especially for Clone Wars lovers. As far as bounty hunters go, he is one of the most unique on-screen characters in Star Wars. Embo went on to informally retire decades after the Galactic Civil War but has a relatively low number of appearances in the canon, leaving fans desperate to see more of him. With his bowcaster and metallic hat, Embo does not rely on technology like others but still manages to craft a reputation as one of the deadliest bounty hunters of his time, which is wildly impressive.

Bossk

Bossk the bounty hunter looks through the scope of his rifle while aiming at his target

Other than Boba Fett, it is Bossk who stands out most in the scene aboard the Executor, with the Trandoshan looking monstrous and menacing, with his story as an immense hunter in the canon going on to back up his kick-ass design.

With his natural Trandoshan abilities and senses, Bossk'wassak'Cradossk - his full name - has all the makings for a fearful bounty hunter. Combine that with his hand-to-hand combat ability, range of dioxis grenades, and skill with his preferred mortar gun, and Bossk is one of the toughest bounty hunters in the Galaxy, as well as one of the most popular. Like many, Bossk survived through the Galactic Civil War but does not yet have an end to his story, something that gives fans hope he will pop up in shows like The Mandalorian or The Bad Batch.

IG-88

IG-88 wields his guns in The Empire Strikes Back.

It is perhaps surprising to see IG-88B ranked higher than Bossk, given how the latter has appeared more on-screen. But, with IG-11 helping out the good name of IG units by being such a fan-favorite droid in The Mandalorian and IG-88B being such a badass droid bounty hunter in his own right, he deserves the praise.

Equipped with various weapons such as blaster rifles, pulse cannons, flame throwers, toxic gas dispensers, and more, IG-88B is one of the most deadly droids in canon and bounty hunters, overall. Also present in The Empire Strikes Back, IG-88B has been dotted about the extended canon but has yet to get a proper on-screen run like many others on this list, which definitely holds him back from Ranker's top five.

Asajj Ventress

Asajj Ventress wielding two lightsabers in Star Wars

Asajj Ventress was not a bounty hunter for long, but she is such a terrific character and so kickass at whatever role she plays in the Galaxy that it is no surprise to see her get so much love from fans on Ranker.

Going into the profession after being abandoned by Dooku and losing the Nightsisters, Ventress was a natural fit for the role with her abilities, intelligence, and strength in combat. Through her underrated arc in The Clone Wars and her time as a bounty hunter in the must-read Dark Disciple novel, Ventress puts herself right up there with the typical big hitters in terms of bounty hunter characters who have not just the skill but the badassery, importance, and complexity to make them enjoyable beyond their roles as a killer.

Jango Fett

Jango Fett shoots at Mace Windu in Attack of the Clones

Jango Fett is not just one of the most instantly recognizable and most popular bounty hunters in Star Wars but one of the most important, not for his time in the profession necessarily, but for being the template for the clone army and for fathering Boba.

Donning Mandalorian armor and going toe-to-toe with Obi-Wan Kenobi in combat, Jango Fett established himself as a skilled bounty hunter during Attack Of The Cloneseven with his quick death at the hands of Mace Windu. Jango had a reputation in the Galaxy as the best bounty hunter of his time. As a skilled marksman with a variety of weapons and an iconic ship, Jango pretty much had it all - except for an extended on-screen career.

Boba Fett

For as great as Jango Fett is, he is, and likely always will be eating the dust of his more popular and more prominent son Boba who continues to grow his legacy in the canon even if many are not the biggest fans of his titular TV series.

Whether it be with his limited role in the original trilogy, time in the comics, or growth in The Clone Wars, Boba has always impressed as a bounty hunter both in his skill and in his iconic look, which pretty much skyrocketed his popularity for decades. Fans are excited to see where Boba's character goes next and if he will become more of a fighting badass in future content. Either way, he will remain an iconic and wildly popular character.

Din Djarin

Din Djarin with The Child.

With only two seasons and 16 mostly brilliant episodes of his titular show, Din Djarin has already established himself as not only one of the best bounty hunters in Star Wars but one of the best leading characters in the franchise's history.

Donning an already iconic beskar armor, wielding weapons such as his beskar staff, Darksaber, phase-pulse blaster, whistling birds, and more, Din has a variety of badass weapons in his arsenal to go alongside his fantastic hand-to-hand combat ability. His moral journey and characterization in The Mandalorian set him apart from most bounty hunters, as he has to grow in the role of a father while also questioning his creed and purpose in the Galaxy. Fans cannot wait for his third outing next year.

Cad Bane

Cad Bane confronts Hunter while hunting Omega in Star Wars The Bad Batch

Din Djarin may well overtake Cad Bane as the most popular bounty hunter in Star Wars soon enough, but for now, Ranker deems the Duros the best of the best, and that really cannot be argued.

A highlight of The Clone WarsThe Bad Batch, and The Book of Boba Fett, Bane is simply phenomenal whenever he appears. A true gunslinger with his cowboy hat and minimum armor, Bane is unique in design and in skill, with few being able to match his combined ability and intelligence.
