Just before Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 began, where Disney teased a major presence on the video game front from publisher Electronic Arts, a new major update was unveiled for Star Wars: Battlefront that helps address one of the major missing features of the game: more single-player support.
On July 21st, Battlefront players will be able to take part in Skirmish mode which adds bot support for offline play to the game's Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron modes (supports splitscreen co-op on consoles). A much-needed feature, it's better than never for Battlefront, especially as players await the next content expansion, Death Star, DLC that we just got our first look at during the "Meet the Creators: The Minds Behind EA's Star Wars Games" panel at #SWCE.
The brief teaser is up top and while we don't quite yet know exactly what gameplay it'll support, it was revealed during the panel that the two new legendary heroes/villains it will add to the game are the bounty hunter Bossk and everyone's favorite fur ball, Chewbacca. The teaser does show some major space skirmishes however, including a Star Destroyer and the Death Star trench run, so perhaps this expansion will add another major missing element of Battlefront: actual wars in the stars!

But that's not all!
To conclude the panel in a big way the fourth and final DLC expansion was also revealed.
Just like the base game
was rushed tocoincided with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in theaters, so to is the last DLC tied to a theatrical release. Rogue One: Scarif debuts this holiday (we're assuming in December given the December 16th release date of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and adds Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) as new playable characters.
